I tried posting this repeatedly in r/unpopularopinion, but it kept getting deleted (possibly for "political correctness"), so I'm posting it in a place where I know where it won't be.

I feel like media has been so consumed by the desire to create "positive, strong, female characters" that there's just a boring lack of female villains lately. In shows, men are often treated like idiots or buffoons like Homer Simpson and Peter Griffin, while the girls and women in shows are often treated as intellectually superior, or "in the right". This leads to developing beliefs that mothers are better parents than fathers, and even manifests as sexism against boys/men in the real world.

I want to see more crass, stupid, weak, profane, crazy, evil female characters. More female characters who are shown to be mentally ill, toxic, killers, child molesters, etc. Even media where mothers would even go so far as to hurt/kill their own child, because that's a reality in our world. I just read a story about a mother punching her baby boy to death. We need to start having more negative women in shows to teach people, especially children, that evil has no gender. It would help more people, especially children, recognize abuse from female figures in their lives. When a society has a huge inundation of media full of "BAD MAN, WOMAN GOOD" or "MEN DUMB, WOMAN SMART" stories, it effectively not only disempowers both men, but *also* girls/women who deal with other abusive and toxic female figures in their lives.

And I'm so tired of stories of not seeing enough stories where men are the protagonist, and a woman is the villain. It seems that society is fine with male protagonist + male villain stories, female protagonist + female villains stories, female protagonist + male villain stories, but rarely do we ever see male protagonist + female villain stories. For example, a lot of Disney media has a lot of female protagonist + male villain stories such as Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen. Shows like Emperor's New Groove and Fairly Odd Parents (i.e. Timmy and Vicky) are more unique because they aren't afraid to show this side. Timmy's parents need to fire Vicky and get a restraining order against her but the cycle of abuse is ongoing in that show. As a side note, I also loved Larxene in Kingdom Hearts who is just a great female villain:

But for every Larxene, there's just a sea of male villains to drown her out:

I also give credit to media when they don't try to make every female villain sympathetic and have a tragic sob story trying to get the viewer to empathize with them. While I like sympathetic villains, I also recognize that reality that not every villain should be one.

Another thing I'd like to see more of is diverse female body types in animated shows. For example, in cartoons, men are portrayed more like this:

I realize that there are a lot of shows featuring toxic women and characters, but I feel like humanity could be doing better in that front. For every Lola Bunny (who was turned into an idiot in the Looney Tunes Show since a lot of people only know her from Space Jam), there's just a huge plethora of more toxic, stupid, and evil male characters, creating an imbalance in my eyes, which even leads to sexism with real-world ramifications. There's a subreddit called "r/pussypass" devoted to women getting "slaps on the wrist" and lenient prison sentences for things such as child murder.
