The “unrealistic standard of beauty” doesn’t exist. Women have wayyyy higher standards for men than men will ever have for women. Men don’t have an attraction floor, women have an attraction floor and men have a much wider breadth or capacity for what they find attractive. Men have an opportunistic sexual strategy, the shotgun approach, we have to otherwise we go extinct. Women are more so looking for quality and their standards are far higher than men’s will ever be, and that goes for idealized physical male beauty too.

Women have a higher standard for idealized male attractiveness than men have for women, women find the average man unattractive, women only super like less than 5% of tinder profiles or something like that. The “dad bod” isn’t actually sexy, the only real sexy male body is the typical hot fireman calendar, which is much harder to achieve than what men find sexy in women.

So the whole “beauty standard” is a cope, it’s bullshit. God forbid men actually have standards are you kidding me. Men know that magazine covers don’t adhere to reality, we know realistically where we rank, and that’s not what we ask of women. Men really don’t ask for much of women, so I laugh at this beauty standard nonsense. Sure just be fit, in shape and there is something to men wanting younger hotter tighter, but within that scope and even older; men have a wayyy wider range of what’s viable.

Men have an innate evolved mating strategy to be attracted to youth, beauty, fertility and a good reproductive choice, but there is a porn genre for everything short girls tall girls fat girls blondes brunettes emo milf etc. So the whole beauty standard thing is kind of a fallacy, I think women get too concerned about it, but there is intrasexual competition as well, and they seem to go overboard sometimes like men are not asking you to be a perfect faked up blondie pornstar DDs no no no. Men are not holding women to some crippling unattainable beauty standard, in fact some of the most successful only fans or cam girls are not the most barbie doll pornstar cover girls, they are the ones who are still good looking but look more average and attainable. Women and women. To be fair I think men kind of uphold a fitness standard for men. Probably do for women a bit as well. But...I mean look at the stereotypical complaints. You hear women say "he's ugly" where as men say "she's fat" usually I think.

I think men have an innate standard of beauty for women and women for men. Then, I think women create a lot of fashion standards for other women that men are mostly unconcerned with. I think the bar is set much higher for men though. I think most men are attracted to average looking women (i.e. the level of attractiveness at which most women are) or even slightly below average whereas that isn't the case with women.

I think it's silly to suggest women set all standards. Like, men obviously don't find old women as attractive as young women. Women didn't decide that.

90% of men and women are attracted to natural beauty standards. Things that wont cost you more than 100 dollars per month, if you eat healthy and do routine workout (no need of gym-- even skipping and jogging is enough)...

Women, unlike men, don't care what men think of their physique cause they know very well it's not too hard to content us. They care about their competitors, e.i., other women.

I am talking about every single aspect of life, mind you... Women behave like bees... They know that their position (survival) within the group is set by other females, not by men. So in order to "promote" themselves within it, or merely survive in it, they need to fight for their place. This comes in all forms of "warfare". By having a better lexical, by being more creative, by being more sensitive, having more relationships, having more education, being more fit, being sexier, and a long etcetera. You just need the changes of a woman throughout her life, maybe a wife or sister. Her girlfriends get married, they get married, they get divorced, well here they go. When you hear women say, "I don't do it for men or to be accepted by men. I do it to feel good with myself". And that's totally true, but it is an incomplete true. There's a difference between who created them and who practices/encourages them more. Both men and women created the sexist gender roles, standards and expectations. And both encourage them for the other gender too, but usually the ones who do, think that it's better for them to focus on enforcing the gender "role" and expectation on their own gender which results in women attacking other women about beauty, and men attacking other men about strength. However, since society is so misandristic and gynocentric, men face much more sexism and enforcement of their "role" by everyone a lot.

Neither. It is nature that creates the standard of beauty on women. The standard of beauty is the ability to bear children, meaning:

big hips
big boobs
youth

Everything women do to get pretty is to increase or simulate some of those three factors. It's the same with men. The ability to provide and to protect children is that makes men attractive I.E. muscles, status and money.

A nice body is nice but what is really important and sadly lacking in 2021 are women who genuinely give a shit about others especially the men in their lives. Some men get off to fucking every whore in town but a large group of men also just want someone to give a damn about them.

I genuinely think it’s both on women. They set the standard for how women look with makeup. Which they have repeatedly said “they are doing for them selfs.” And they also set the standard for men. Cause such a lady percentage of men in society are happy not being super attractive and having six pack abs. We know we can be healthy and happy without that.
