So big fan of Reddit and I was like , I’m sure there’s something about divorce. I’ve been here 10 mins searching through articles. I think my best recourse is to state my situation as it probably fucked.

Married for 6 years, 5 year old and 14 month twins. Was caught cheating 2 almost 3 years ago in a long affair. We have tried to work things out but in the end there’s no recovering without trust and respect.

She has been a stay at home mom for 3 years now. Plans to until kids are in school. I make around 120k a year. My stock and crypto portfolio is significant and she knows about all of it. Her sister in law is a partner at a law firm and I assume has been coaching her with questions as of late. We just refinanced and have around 100k in equity.

I know she’ll take me to the cleaners, kill me in child support for the next 16 years. She can have the house but I assume I get half the equity? I would only be able to afford a small place so having the kids overnight couldn’t happen. So how would I even have custody? Financially I’ll be ruined, but it sounds worth it to have my freedom. I’m not sure what I’m missing but I’m in the very early stages and I’m ready to finally go. I just need advice before i hire an attorney.
