So I had the Talk with my stbx(44F) 2 weeks ago. I finally told my dad about it last night. I had given him a heads up last summer that I was going down this path. This was 100% my decision. From the outside, our marriage probably seemed fine, no visible fights. But on the inside, emotional neglect and total lack of affection, financial irresponsible. My dad asked all reasonable questions, especially being my dad. He certainly doesn't want me to get divorced. But I feel like with every person I tell I'm going to have to have an elevator speech of all the reasons while at the same time try not to just talk trash because she is the mother of our 2 kids, 9M and 11F. She's not a terrible person just a crappy wife. She's also a good mom.

I'm in therapy and my therapist has been awesome and validates that this is needed. So I just hate that I'm going to feel judgement of "quitting" the marriage when I've been treated like crap. My kids have commented on the lack of affection and I know it's best for them. It's going to suck and 100% the right decision. Just really not looking forward to the next few months.
