The masterminds behind all this know what the data shows, they just ignore it. A lot of the footsoliders are either willfully ignorant and refuse to read the data, or are too...well lets be nice and just say "easily manipulated".

When a study fails to substantiate the claims of a protected class, you look for another study.

Compare the library of methodologies and approaches the pay gap continues to go through, with the approaches applied to the education gap. Simple study shows boys behind girls and the response is /shrug

I enjoy reminding the pay gap zealots that HR departments are mostly filled with women employees and they have the access to see exactly how much everyone gets paid - so where are the stunning and brave whistle blowers, armed with undeniable, smoking gun evidence of pay discrimination? We should be up to our eye balls in them. Where are they?

Sadly, understanding statistics is hard. Even for people trained in it, it's never trivial to be certain what a statistics is actually saying.

And people only have a limited amount of hours in their day. If enough people have been bashing you over the head with a Stat for enough time, you're proba l'y going to think "well, if it wasn't true, it wouldn't be so prominent, someone more qualified should have veted it. So it's likely to be true". It took me more than an hour diving into this Stat looking for sources and the like to understand what was going on. And I'm a scientist, trained to understand stats. The average plumber or roofer or nurses aid who comes home after an exhausting day has other things to do that to put in that kind of work.

So don't be too hard on the average person that didn't check this Stat in depth. The blame is more on things like the media, whose job it is to make sure we get quality information, and that such thing don't slip past them. Sadly, they can't censor the government, whose job should also be to avoid feeding us with this kind of misinformation. Now, when the media is overwhelmingly pushing feminist propaganda on its own, and to the government, it is often considered political suicide to oppose feminism's talking points, then there isn't much counterweight to limit the spread of that propaganda.

It's maddening.

I mean, the French électoral system is garbage (like most are), and things are getting worst in France because all our politicians have to do is be "not worst" that the party that was created by Nazi sympathizers, and they get to be elected. Because the way we vote, we end up having to pick the "least worst" of popular candidates.

A few years ago, on of the left leaning politician (who has been in the system long enough for me not to trust in his character), decided he wanted to become famous and have his own big party. He consulted everyone and had a big chunk of the population participate in elaborating a political program. Amongst the points proposed was "if I get elected, I set in motion a change from the 5th towards the 6th republic, I let the people decide how they want to set it up, and I fuck off from power". Which was a big driving force for why people voted for him.

But in his program, amongst the various points, there was this little detail :

How do you finance your proposals? Well, women are still paid 25% less than men. By fixing that, the added tax revenues would be enough to cover the additional spendings".

I face-palmed so hard it must have been heard throughout the world. It probably created a tornado the other side of the world.

And basically, he has several points that are straight from SJWs. It's disheartening that he's become the best left leaning option we have, and the best hope we have to change that fucked up voting system.

A possible explanation is that the marriage rate is dropping and men are engaging women less, men are not spending money trying to impress women or gain status (look up herbivore men) to get women so consumer spending could be dropping and since women tend to spend more they might be trying to get money into women's hands to pump up the economy.

I might be wrong tho, Canada is a petro state too.

The reason it is still bought up is because it is about redistributing power and resources to women. That's what the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women says.

It also because gender equality is seen as the power relationship between women and men. And women having less money than men is seen as unequal power between women and men.

I wholeheartedly agree with Colette, that in order for femalization of the veterinary profession to be a positive effect, which I KNOW it can be, we have to set women up for success from the get go.

Diversity is not the key for a successful society anymore heh ?
