We went over this again and again and again and again. According to so many studies, every economist and basic common sense, it's simply impossible for women as a class to be paid less than men as a class for the exact same work out of gender discrimination.

So then why do I still see protests on the streets, out-dated wage statistics brought up in the news (alongside newer stats that are still out of context) and actual organisations working towards ending this issue? I Iive in Quebec, and the ad campaigns make me feel like my entire province is gaslighting me. If it was just about ending the possible remaining 1 or 2% of wage disparities (illegally) caused by discrimination, I could understand it. If it was about ending the "motherhood tax", I would get it too, but that's not what they're advocating for. All I see is the same out of context stats of a fake problem being used. All I see is people and organisations advocating for equality of outcome rather than opportunity, which is terrifying and I sincerely hope isn't what's going on.

Can someone make this make sense?
