Nothing new. I have seen a woman trying to cut the queue and when told there is a queue, conveniently replied oh, im a woman. They are pushing for a women only coach for the subway here, where men are not allowed to enter, but they can enter the men's couch if they want to. The idea of gender equality here is more to gender superiority.

Reading the article, I don't think her point was that she's innocent because she's female as opposed to male.

This appears to be "sovereign citizen" or "freeman on the land" silliness. Just as they usually say "I'm a man, not a person or a defendant," I suspect that was her point of saying "I'm a woman."

I used to be a police officer and as such have spent a lot of hours in courtrooms. This sounds like batshit crazy behavior, but it's more common than you think. People stroll into court thinking they are going to show them how it's done.

Judges do not put up with this shit, mostly because they don't have to. You don't have to play by the rules...but there will be consequences.
