Now give the stats of mass shooters living without a father. The worse you raise your son, the worse he will grow. Single parent who is raising him is to be blamed for being a failure.

The sexist pigs who perpetuate the myth that "men are naturally violent killers of women" understand men as a single unit, without diversity, without individual agency and lived experience, and without characteristics other than being male. Their shallow, unevolved understanding of men and masculinity reveals their entrenched gender hatred, their intense and uninformed misandry. Their contributions to reducing violence in our community is to introduce their own hatred and prejudice, actually making things worse.

[–]Altered_Beast805 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

Discussing legitimate statistics is not bias nor misandry.

Men and women have inherent, fundamental differences, and those differences will be expressed in different ways.

Pointing out those differences, using the sauce, is the opposite of bias.

[–]krowface 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

How dare you tell the truth here.

[–]BalloonPilotDude 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But the numerous comments painting all males as perpetrators are.

One in particular, that is awarded, basically goes on and on along the line that ‘this is not ‘our’ problem, men just need to step-up and solve it themselves’.

As if this is a ‘only you’ problem that all men are going to suddenly rise up and solve on their own.

Maybe we should; our other halves certainly don’t give a shit to help out with much, unless they directly benefit, anymore.

[–]blaizken_420[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Saying that men are evil and unstable and violent is not discussing anything legitimate. The agenda behind the post is extremely biased.

[–]Viesegel 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

But they're not saying that. The statistics merely point out that men, on average, are more violent than women.

This makes sense from an evolutionary biology standpoint, as the males have to compete with each other to be chosen by the female.

Of course, as soon as you turn that into a curfew for men, it enters the domain of misandry and sexism. But let's judge people for what they're doing and saying, and not for the hidden agenda that you think there is.

[–]rocksnstyx 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The top post is literally "men are the more violent sex"; which is the same old tired answer that has been used over and over again. Studies have shown women are almost as violent .

[–]blaizken_420[S] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But let's judge people for what they're doing and saying, and not for the hidden agenda that you think there is.

You first. Look at the comments instead of disguising the blatant true purpose here as intellectual honesty.

[–]Viesegel 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Which comment specifically should I look at?

It's a very low effort post to send people to a list of 169 comments, and claim "there are some bad ones in there", especially since we already know that this happens all the time.

You may be right about the 'blatant true purpose', but it's bad debating to attack people on arguments they never made explicitly. They can simply deny, and make you look like a fool.

[+]tinny36 -11 points-10 points-9 points 4 years ago (51 children) | Copy Link

What is your concern here? That the statistic was shared, or that it was posted as a 'we should hate men because they shoot more people?'

I mean, men are also in more car accidents in their first few years of driving, which is why they are charged more for insurance. It's facts, and it's not smart to ignore them.

[–]trashtony69 7 points8 points9 points 4 years ago (26 children) | Copy Link

And that’s why women should be paid less at work, because they work less, right?

[–]tinny36 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (25 children) | Copy Link

How do women work less? Like in hours or in like how many wheelbarrows of dirt they can fill in an hour?

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Also, its a loss for the employer when she takes care of kids, etc. Dont you think that this should be equalised a bit?

Employeer should not be forced to lose money because of a private decision of an employee who is not even allowed to be fired. Company exists for its owners profit, not for women to have it easy in life.

[–]tinny36 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link

Yikes. It's the personal choice of the couple, but only the woman should pay with losing her job? I don't really understand that.

And yes, on an individual basis, it's my choice to not have a baby while someone else will, but the 'world' can assume that there will be a great many couples who choose to have babies...I mean, the world needs babies right? So you can't be punished for being part of perpetuating the species. What would happen if couples just decided to stop having kids because their jobs were more important?
Who is going to be your doctor when you're 80? For your arguement, then why should an employer give you sick days? Bereavement leave? Vacation? You're being paid to work not be sick. Take vacation on your own time.

However, I do ask that question all the time, I'm an employer and why would I 'choose' to hire someone who could go on mat leave for a year and I have to backfill her position for a year (loss of productivity, hassle, etc) when I can just get a man who won't have all that 'stuff' attached to him? At the very basis of that, while I understand the arguement, it's unfair because a couple can't decide to 'let the man have the baby instead'. So by virtue of being a woman, we are overlooked for jobs because we are potentially a liability. And I can totally see both sides, but see how it's unfair? Like car insurance...I can see how their stats show male drivers are a greater liability, but if you're a male driver with no history of bad driving, why should you pay more?

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link

Well, did the employer made her do it? They didnt, in fact they have no right to opinion. And men, well, dont take constant days off "because baby". They work, per contract. So why should men pay, exactly?

And your employer isnt there to make sure you have babies you want. Thats on YOU, alone. If you cant do all that is required, you need to choose one thing and stick to it.

Why employers employ that woman? You do realise that I have no right to deny her, in any way, right? And I'll be held responsible if I do, no matter how deterimental it is to me? Why do you expect someone to take a substantial financial and legal risk for you, miss noone?

[–]tinny36 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

If dads don't take days off to deal with babies it's because they have their wife do it. So the women do the favour of taking the hit for the 'larger bread winner' so he can continue to be a model employee, never taking a day off 'because baby' because his wife is. So his wife takes a day off 'because baby' and now she's the bad one. What if wife said to husband, I can't take the day off, you need to. Is he a bad employee for that? No. You can't penalize a couple for having a baby, if everyone believed that if you take days off to raise kids you suffer at work, no one would be having the kids.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

If dads DO take days off, they get paid less, and get shit on, by their oh-so-loving spouses. Make up your mind. And yes - he is nlt there to sacrifice for someone who will never sacrifice anything for him, really.

Its not penalising someone for the baby. Its jot paying them more than they actually DO. Men do more? Then they are entitled to be paid more. Its not enough to claim she works "more efficient" - she is to work as best she can, constantly, same hours. Otherwise she is not as good as the employee could bez and should be removed.

You know, like it happens to men, when they dont do their best. I only expect same effort from women, instead of usual looking for excuses, and "cant do because"'s. Men can do it, so can women. Where there is a will - there is a way.

[–]tinny36 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Well, now you're generalizing. I have not met one single woman who hasn't praised their spouse for sharing child rearing responsibilities by sharing the time off needed to bring Junior to a doctor's appointment or volunteer at the science fair. Unfortunately, those events and largely served by women. So if you want us to stay home and take care of your kids, then leave us...what are we supposed to do? We have sacrificed a career to help your career and raise your children....and are left with....child support? Which thrills you, doesn't it? Wouldn't it be better if men and women had fulfilling careers where they could support themselves and their children, and each other if the other spouse had a hiccup where they changed jobs or careers...not all the pressure on one spouse to keep nose to the grindstone every day. But for a woman to have a career AND be able to bring children into the world for herself and her spouse, there needs to be support (just like how if a man wishes to share parenting duties, he's able to take parental leave and enjoy staying home with his child for a period of time...a RIGHT of his as a father). The world is moving in the right direction...we just have to find a way to keep moving that way while both men and women are still respectful of each other and what they go thorugh in life to make the world go around.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

Ph, my dearz ypu have it all wrong..i just expect you to have no bonuses stemming from your gender, none whatsoever. Nothing else. And I also expect you to pull same equal weight in society as men do. No but's or if's. If I am to provide everything, so are you. If I am to die on a front line, so are you. If I am to take caee of kids AND bring in enough money ANd everything else, without complaining - I expect same of you. And I dont care thwt you "cant do it". You can. You just dont want that real equality. You want to only get the good sides of it, and preferential treatment otherwise, to which you are accustomed to.

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I think that's wholly unfair, but let's say I agree.

How do we deal with the parts about men being biologically built faster/stronger than women? You can't say 'we should lift boxes at the same weight and speed'. It physically can't happen. That's why there are men's and women's events. We may train or try just as hard but will be limited.

And men can't bear children, does that mean they won't make excellent fathers? Just because they didn't carry a baby, they can't take time off to parent their newborn? Of course not, because men physically cannot have children. Things cannot, nor should not, be 100% equal. They can't be. But each person should get the basic things they need, within reason, to operate. No, a blind person cannot be a health inspector. It can't be done. but if they are equipped and trained and able to be a writer, a journalist, a trainer...then they should be given that opportunity without discrimination, so they can earn a living doing something they CAN do.

I don't know what you think women say they 'can't' do...but I agree with you, they can. And like I said in another post (somewhere..) that just because some men and women gravitate towards certain positions, doesn't make that wrong. I think in general, women have the more nurturing gene and they gravitate towards elementary school teachers WAY more than men. We shouldn't push 'equality' of representation in that role if not many man WANT to do it. Same with maybe special ops or police officers...if a woman wants to, or can do that job, great, but if women do not gravitate towards those jobs then we shouldn't force it to be staffed 50/50. We have to let some things be a part of how people choose to live their life. I see nothing wrong. Where are you saying women complain about pulling their weight in society? Curious.. However I may be overstepping my welcome in this sub so I understand if I need to shut up and leave now :)

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Men cant bear children, but science is working on it, tbh. You can get a viable egg from stem cell already, relatively easily. And artificial uterus is being animal tested on cattle and mice - so you know...you might find out on few decades, that men can indeed have kids without you...

Each person should get what they "need" you say? Then work for it. Nothing is free, and we do not consent to upkeeping you for nothing in return, anymore. And we dont consent anymore to taking any risk for you, nor to sacrificing anything for you - we did that enough, and all we get in return is lack of even basic respect from any woman, as a default. Even if most taxes is paid by men, and large parts of their budget is, often forcibly, used by a woman. Surprisingly, it never works the other way without a woman throwing a gigantic fit. Why is that?

You literally just wrote double standards - where you WANT employment, its 50/50, and where you do not, you dont give a damn? Such equality....shame that its men that are, again, paying the price of being forced out of well paid jobs so that a woman can be pushed there. And I dont see feminists opposing misandry in employing men in "traditionally female" jobs, or with female coworkers treating those men like shit.

Pulling your own weight in society, also means having not an OPTION, but a REQUIREMENT to defend thwt society. Equal treatment, again. Im yet to see a woman that would honestly be for it. Want to be the first one, perhaps?

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When I'm talking about getting what you need, I'm saying, people should, in areas of human rights, get what they need. Every child should get the an equal education, each person should have basic health care, even if one person goes more because of asthma and another barely uses it...we all pay so that people get health care (I'm in Canada...so we do that here). As for defending society...you mean like the draft? Has that happened recently? Women do join the military, I don't think anyone is forced to anymore...but so long as there is someone looking after a couple's child(ren) then one parent (if they do this) should be drafted.

And if men can have babies sometime, well that's awesome. Would be interesting times for sure. Science is amazing.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

So what if it didnt happen lately? Dont deflect. Men are forced to serve in war, you seem to not see that, willingly. Doesnt fit your story? And dont hide and cower behind "but babies". Men dont exist to die for you, and its time women gave back the lives lost by men forced to fight, in their defence. We'd like to sot back in safety a bit, now, you see?

Stop your entitlement.

You pay for health, etc? Cute. How much is paid/used by which gender, by percentage/amount? Could you provide a verified statiatics for that? If men are found to pay for you, are they properly compensated for you profiteering from THEIR money? Is the form of compensation what they want, or something your society thinks as enough for them? Because you seem to expect men to be a team with you, which is false - and its feminism that wanted this, originally. After all, you supposedly, dont need men, right? If so, then why do you love their money, and assets, so much?

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wow. A lot of things happened in the past that shouldn't have. If they started the draft process today, I am certain they would not, could not, force men only to serve.

You are projecting a lot of incorrect 'stuff'....like I don't know where to begin. How do men pay for me when I work full time and pay taxes, and property taxes...? You can't break down taxes the way you are suggesting...people pay taxes that go towards road improvements but ride bikes. People with no kids still pay school taxes. We all contribute to the improvement of society, it benefits people who don't have kids, that other people's kids are educated, they will become the generation of doctors, taxpayers, etc. So if you want to do a deep dive into taxes, have at it.

I don't think anyone said 'we don't need men'? I mean, if they did it was a flippant stupid thing to say.....maybe it was when women were making their way into the workforce where they could have their own money to support themselves and the family in general? Is that a bad thing?

I think you're still stuck in the past a lot and many men wish to revert to a time where women were dependent, quiet, subservient, and let you have your way. But then you also fight against the way things were in the past...so what is it you want exactly?

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

You know, feminists literally had the "we need men like a fish needs a bicycle" spiel. Guess what, bicycles dont need the fish either...

We want what is good for US at any given moment. Your problem is thinking that we are still on a same team. Thanks to feminists, we are not. Take that issue to them, not to us - we didnt start it, some of us just said "ok, if you want it so - thrn we are not together anymore".

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

For the record, I don't think the 'we don't need men' thing was ever right. I think there was pent up anger from some of the more oppressed women who had to fight harder to get what they want. But you are right, we SHOULD be about being on the same team and working together. However...you can't just look at what some feminists said about men, and ignore men's treatment of women over the decades. Not able to vote, work, work in meaningful jobs, be in control of her own money...I mean these were the issues WOMEN had to fight to earn so yeah, was there some end-zone celebrations going on...sure. And it rubs people the wrong way. So now, we are where we are...members of society who are able to perform the same job job the same way should be able to...and women can now 'contribute' to the family income, support each other...and not be the lazy gold diggers many men think we are. So...what' the problem?

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Doesnt matter WHY it was said. Words have consequences, and worst of those consequences is a loss of trust. Feminists fucked up, big time, and many men just dont want to trust their kind anymore. Why should we? Because you think and whaaaant? How about...no?

Deal with it, because we are not coming back to you. Men built their world from zero, and You just assume that you are entitled to their everything, because you...exist?

Protip: if someone built something, and you want it - yeah, you gonna have to work for it and pay the price as stated. Alternativelly, build it yourself, from zero, like those men did. Id say its a fair deal, dont you thunk?

Want a company that hires women despite it being destructive to it? Be that change, build that company. Who's stopping you? Apparently you know better how to run a company, so getting to the top will be no problem for you, right? Who are you to dictate someone what they should do, just so that YOU have it better, on their expense?

You want power? Build it from zero, somewhere. Who's stopping you? Apart from you not wanting to do the work, and just expecting to be invited to the top and reap any benefits you want? Will you defend the nation when it comes to it, like Zelensky? I doubt it. Why should I accept you deciding on a war, as a politician, when your entire societal group is excluded from being forced to participate, and just has an OPTION to do so?

You are talking family money and funds...you mean those money where her money is her alone, and his money is THEIRS, which is a norm for women to think? Well, f me if im into that. Why should I trust you, again, that it doesnt end up like that? Maybe if it NEVER ever happened to ANY man, AND there were a serious criminal charges if a woman does it...we might talk? On a man's word of course, not evidence - after all, you should ALWAYS belive the victim, right?

In other words - society works on solely one singular "currency". That currency is trust. If women want us to return to the table, it is that trust, that you have to rebuild. Be prepared to just be denied, because its just...easier and safer. Just like that. Get it? And instead of holding that against the men, and expecting them to change - again, deal with the real cause, called "feminism". By yourself.

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Wow. So much wrong, and obviously you've met or surrounded yourself with horrible relationships. I honestly understand that once you've been hurt and you look for other examples of that, you find it. I truly wish you all the best but you need to want to see the good in people, because whatever you want to see, you will see. I still don't really know what you want, like in life...how would you suggest men and women co-exist in a truly trusting, peaceful society? Just wondering what it would take for you to live a happy life.

Have a great day, truly.

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad1 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

...you do realise that men dont just act out of their own experiences, but also take other men's experiences into account, as well? Maybe its a surprise for you, but we TALK to each other, you know? Do you suggest se shpuld never ever take anything into account? Id have to be an utter, total, complete idiot to do so.

And dont tell me, or ther men, what we "should" or "need" to do. WE will decide that, not you. Based on what WE deem best for US, and US alone.

You want coexisting? Change a few laws pushed by feminism, for starters. Maybe some proper real punishment for those thst pushed them in place and accepted them? The duluth model, for example...or literally ANY spousal support, for thst matter. As a token of good will. Cant so that? Well, too bad? :)

My life is quite happy tbh. Its just that any woman in my life, os there on MY terms. Alternativelly, she is not there at all. Simple, and effective - maybe its another shocker for you, but men can be happy and fulfilled with no female "partner" overseer in their lives, you know? Strange, eh?

You seem hell bent on changing men to suit you, tbh.

[–]tinny361 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

I say the same thing to you about women. You 'keep them around on your terms' You're just as hell bent on changing women to suit you, 'tbh'. So I guess you and I...we're the same, no? ;)

That too, but also constant leaving early / coming in late / doing private business during work hours. Which she cant be really even reprimanded for, much.

[–]NiceNob 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Both sometimes but less hours usually

[–]tinny36 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

And I'm sure you personally can fill more wheelbarrows of dirt that another co-worker, should you make less or is it so long as you can fill 10 per hour, everyone gets the same? Because that's 'doing the job'.

And yes, overall we work less hours in our lifetimes because we are the only ones who can have babies and do require some time off to do that.

I also feel like you can't alwasy compare 'fair pay' on a large scale, so long as each person is given the same shot for any job...that's equity. Like fire fighters...if there is an amazingly strong woman who can power through all the tasks and do them in the realm of 'normal' for the average firefighter, she should have a shot at the job. If someone says they need to hire half women, well that's just stupid. maybe not as many women WANT the job. Like elementary school teachers. They are predominantly women. I suspect because we are, in our nature, caregivers and at the elementary level, that's a lot of what teaching is. Should we force more men to have those jobs? No...not if they don't want them. That's equity, give people what they need to succeed, to have reasonably the same outcome. You can't mandate half of all job are split between men and women.

Woah you started with basically asking the same question again and ended with 'intersectionality is dumb'.

I agree with you for the most part though.

What is your concern here?

Look at those sexist comments and tell me what might be the problem

[–]tinny36 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most of the comments are about what qualifies as a mass shooting. But yes, many are 'men are the more violent sex' with many backing up with stats. I didn't find the comments inherently sexist, it was more sharing what they feel are facts...I mean you could say that high school girls are the largest contributors to bullying (I'm guessing that's the case...high school girls are mean), and there could be many comments about how teenage boys tend to have one fist fight and solve their problems whereas teenage girls tend more to drag through social media, manipulate, gossip, lie, etc and throw stats i nthere to support it. I mean it's not a good colour but doesn't mean it's not true. Are you disputing that men are the largest perpetrators of gun violence? I mean does it make sense to ignore statistics or face them?

[–]EmirikolWoker 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Now do crime statistics by race.

Man here with 15 years driving experience. Never had a single accident, collision or received any fines, tickets or points. My two sisters have had a string of accidents and tickets...

The UK used to give women cheaper car insurance, I'm so glad it was made equal a few years back.

[–]tinny36 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm not exactly sure how it works here in Canada but after I think 5 years of clean driving if you're a man, you're pretty much on par with what a woman pays. They're out of the danger zone.

[–]Nayko214 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

that's still sexist bias. Why should I be treated differently, charged more for insurance, etc. just because I'm male?

[+]tinny36 -10 points-9 points-8 points 4 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Ok, so you own an insurance company. You run your stats. You see who claims the most in insurance, and during what age category, or with what kind of cars/motorcycles...you're still going to grant everyone coverage for the same fee? They do this too for medical...if I have a family history of heart issues, I pay more. No fault of my own. At some point, you do have to look at statistics. And it's not punishing just because you're a man, its punishing because of all the men/boys who came before you who chose to drive like idiots, driving up your insurance rates.

[–]Nayko214 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Irrelevant. I have no bearing on them. Just because I'm a man doesn't mean I'm wildly irresponsible. Also in your example nothing was in your control regarding heart issues. that's ridiculous you would have to pay more over something you have no control over. Until something actually comes up and happens you shouldn't have to pay more over something like that. Its nonsense.

That's not even considering how insurance is just a giant scam anyway. You can have everything done the right way and they'll still do everything in their power to not pay you for what you have coverage over.

[+]BetterOffCamping -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Dude, if statistics (their credit rating, for example) show person A is less likely to repay a loan than person B, would you flip a coin to decide which one gets your money, or will you lend to person B?

[–]Nayko214 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Except my gender has no bearing on that, nor does race or anything of the sort. Its irrelevant to whether or not someone will do something or not.

[–]BetterOffCamping -5 points-4 points-3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah, but if that were true, the percentage of male drivers who are in collisions would be nearly equal to the percentage of women drivers.

That said, I totally agree with your assertion if the statistics don't have a proper measurement base, which is entirely possible. Statistics lie when the measurements are dishonest or inaccurate.

Until that is established, insurers are doing the right thing financially. They are in business to make a profit and are minimizing their risk. Part of that is adjusting price to account for added risk.

[–]TurbulentFlow7145 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Can we do the same for race?

[–]tinny36 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can insurance do it? I think they can do what they want...but I really don't think they should do it for either gender nor race..it's just that they are able to state facts and adjust their insurance in a way that decreases their risk...why can't we talk facts and deal with it when it comes to gun violence? What people may need to do though is talk about 'why'. Why are men more predisposed than women to commit gun crimes? Then what can we do to help target that and help the men/boys figure out where there is rage or upset, and provide support. Men aren't evil. It's a sign there is help needed and maybe society is creating a void that many are falling into. How can they be better supported?

[+]tinny36 -7 points-6 points-5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm all for equal rights for everyone (woman and men) but some things are just math.

[–]denisc9918 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you don't stop spittin facts you're gonna start threatening my PB for downvotes.. lol

[–]TurbulentFlow7145 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is punishing you based on the actions of others who you share traits with.

[–]tinny36 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree...I don't think it's right, I just think that they're using stats that speak so strongly about a gender and their driving habits that they state it, as fact. So the original post was stating as fact that most mass shooters are men. Fact. But let's look into WHY that might be before we vilify men and call it a 'men's problem.

[–]IceCorrect 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ive check when you have black car over silver you pay a bit more

[–]ImplodedPotatoSalad 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"If women tend to have more health concerns than a man over the years, due to reproduction, menstruation, post-partum, and menopause related issues, and women's health insurance therefore covered more $ per year due to that...then while the actual dollar amount may be distributed 'unequally', it does still mean both men and women get what they need, which is adequate health care" Your words ...... so women should pay more for health care?

[–]tinny36 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No...because it's what's needed for a healthy society. Healthy men and healthy women. Men have men's issues they go to the doctor for that women don't have....everyone gets equal access to health care so everyone is healthy.

[–]TurbulentFlow7145 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So let me get this straight, men should pay higher car insurance because men as a group cause more accidents and therefore cost insurance companies more, but women as a whole, who require more medical care, shouldn’t have to pay more medical insurance?? Wtf

[–]tinny36 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Actually I was just pointing out that as a business, this is how you can look at stats to make informed decisions (risks, etc). Personally, I think that all people should pay the same in insurance unless given a reason to pay more. In government and the basics we pay to have provided for us, not as a business, as a government for the people, we should all get access to health care at an equitable level...I can't help that I'm a woman and have a uterus that may fail one day and need help. That's basic care. Men don't have a uterus so their health care may cost less than the average woman but we're all coming out healthy. That's equitable care, with the same end goal.
