There wouldn't be an issue if more people had home delivery: society is setup to give people dangerous weapons and place then in situations where they can use them on impulse.

Judicial punishment is not a deterrent to crime where emotions are involved and because women respond more by emotional impulse than reason, it's even less of a deterrent for them. Calming down and saying sorry after you have wrecked someone elses life doesn't undo the damage. Society needs greater prevention, not punishment after the fact.

I don't think incarcerating this woman would help, because the next woman that does this is not going to stop, remembering what happened in this instance. It's not about the kids, although they are always used as a sympathy card.

I think she should have been banned from driving for life and required to pay for the victims rehabilitation and future loss of quality of life. However, society needs to discourage emotional people from operating deadly weapons.
