Depends in which country, which city, and even which age range and socio-economic class a woman is in.

In the US, the "best" data is the NISVS survey, last done in 2012 and due for a new edition to be published soon.

Table 3.1 gives us numbers on lifetime "completed AND attempted forcing penetration" (estimated). 17 million women.

There's 167m females in the US, making it 1 in 10. But that includes attempted (not completed), which skews the number, and this definition gets watered down further when we look closely at it. "Attempted" includes "she thought it might happen", and "she felt uneasy about a situation", as well as "someone looked at her in a way she didn't like" (paraphrased).

It's a useless stat, essentially.

The actual best records are kept by the FBI, and DoJ, and they record 1 in 52,000 women will be raped by men. I haven't got access to that source right now, but I can find it if asked.

In the U.S.:

While feminists were claiming 1 in 4 college women were being raped, the Bureau of Justice released a very detailed report showing the actual rate was about 6 per 1,000 for college students and 7 per 1,000 for non students. Of course the feminist propaganda is what the press focused on.

There are some very famous quotes on fear that fit right in.

If you are terrified of whatever, men, spiders, snakes, lightning, that's sucks to be you. But your irrational fear shouldn't change my life or environment. If you were terrified by dogs in purple sweaters, I would not support you trying to ban all dogs from wearing purple sweaters. It's a you problem, don't make it an everyone problem.

Your actual chances of being violently attacked or raped as a woman are very very very very low. Your chances of it happening by a complete stranger in a random situation is even lower. Like so low, it should barely even be talked about.

What has actually happened is that a few rightfully scary events have formed this culture of fear where everyone is afraid of this very unlikely thing. Women walk with keys in their hand to fend off attackers and cross the street and all that. I'm not saying you shouldn't be free to do that. If you want to be batshit crazy, you're free to be. But that fear is irrational.

If you want to take gender out of it for some data (well, you can never fully do that but this gets close) then look at something else people are always terrified of happening and lots of awareness about that doesn't happen. Kidnapping. How many rules did you have to follow to not be kidnapped? Walk in groups with friends. Don't talk to strangers, don't get close, don't even look at anybody ever for any reason whatsoever or you'll just explode or be kidnapped. Kidnap whistles. No children can walk home from school by themselves. Can't even walk from bus stops! Kids faces are plastered on milk cartons. Amber alert systems were invented for this terrible problem! Every parent is deathly afraid their little precious shit machine is going to be stolen by a psychopath and murdered.

On average a few years ago, a child is abducted every 40 seconds just in the USA. Oh my God! The poor babies! That's almost 789k kidnappings per year. This makes great headlines and sensational stories. That's pretty f-ing scary isn't it! There are 75 million ish kids in the USA (0-18). That works out to 1% of children. In a room of 100 kids, 1 of them will likely be kidnapped every year.

But wait a second... Who's doing the kidnapping? If you look at the real numbers the data shows between 100ish and 350ish kids per year are abducted like you see on TV. Van with candy rolls up and steals your precious. Let's take the absolute biggest number average, 350 per year. That means 788650 children are abducted by people they know like parents and grandparents in custody disputes. Divorced parents where they miss a visitation and file a missing report to be vindictive.

Let's put our new number back in. 350 actual real kidnappings per year out of 75 million kids is 0.000467%. Instead of 1 out of 100 kids it is now 1 out of 214285 kids per year.

You have a 1 in 12000 chance of being struck by lightning if you live to be 80. Are you 20 TIMES MORE afraid of your children being struck by lighting all the time?! You should be. But you aren't.

Because fear is irrational and people know that. The summary of this is that while you may have a fear, it's unfounded. The statistics just aren't there. If you want to live your life in fear, do it. Otherwise don't, and be happy. If you're going to be raped, violently attacked, murdered, or kidnapped, it is probably someone you know and are at least familiar with. Not some crazy serial killer rapist hiding in bushes for anyone to walk by. And that's what you prepare for isn't it? You cross the street when you see a strange man you don't know. You park in a lit parking lot so that you can see strangers. You look under your car to make sure nobody is there to slice your legs because you watched it online. Those are legitimate scary things. And they happen to almost nobody ever.

I mean even if we had the numbers, we wouldn't really know what to do with them as regular ass people. Let's say it's 120 women per year or 12000 women per year, both are not zero and therefore too many, but what would we do with those numbers?

Hard to say, and mostly depends on a lot of factors that are in the woman's hands, even if the medias hate that truth. Dressing very lightly, going in bad neighborhoods, being alone at 3AM outside, having criminals/actual abusers as boyfriends, doing hard drugs or being wasted in bars...

If you're careful the only real risk would be kidnapping by some kind of ex or at least guy who became obsessed with you, or a stranger getting you on your morning jog in some deserted areas.

Statistically it varies by multiple factors. Ex. city means more people/ higher population density, so of course more people - higher chance. If it’s an active war zone that increases risk.. also not to stereotype but the worse the disparity with income vs cost of living the higher the risk of all crimes. So like for example. I’m from an upper middle class us town of about 3k people. 0 murders or rapes in the last 5 years. Compare that to 45 rapes 3 years ago in a city 20 minutes away with a population of 22k. So depending the location you may be more or less likely to encounter violent people in general. Now the other part of it. The definition of rape has been changed and morphed so often that the statistics need to be questioned. If we assume for arguments sake that rape is being defined as it was classically understood to mean and not things like morning after regret etc. then of course the numbers can change. However- we really can’t say it’s unreasonable to be wary and situationally aware when out and about alone or when drinking, for women OR men. Because we DONT always know the intentions of people around us. Don’t be paranoid. Be safe. All people would Benefit from watching their drinks in public. Or walking without their headphones stopping them from hearing things around them. Or from carrying something to defend themselves in the case of an attacker. Because men can be raped, men can be mugged, or murdered, and it’s just as important for men to think about as well.

Assuming you mean ' jump out of the bushes and have his wild way with her' then the odds are very low. If you mean a guy at a party raping a girl who's drank too much, lot less rare.

If you mean, 'he took off the condom after 20 minutes' then that happens all the time.
