Hi, I'm a 19-y.o. Gen Z man, and I've been reading the posts here for a while, since before I've made this account in fact. I stumbled onto this subreddit and got a different perspective on a lot of things, and I hope to provide my own as well.

It seems to me that it's becoming more and more frequent that, whenever I go out with one of my friends around my age or go on social media, the misandrist attitude comes out.

Recently, I got into a group chat with my closest male friend, where one of the girls outright admitted to recently breaking up with a boyfriend and I saw one of the others in it unironically (or otherwise) say "fuck men".

Naturally, as a man who's still learning who I'm supposed to be and whatnot, this hurts to see.

My closest male friend also said "all men do is lie". Does he just ignore the fact that he's a man too? Am I crazy for feeling this is an awful thing? He told me in person that I'm the only straight guy he feels comfortable around. Ironically, that comment made me a little uncomfortable.

Another close friend about an hour ago shared a meme with the caption that said "when a man talks" or something like that, with a disgusted/disapproving face underneath. She's about six months older than me.

These are just recent examples, mind you. I'm not even taking into consideration much older examples of this.

Should I drop my friends for having such a negative attitude towards men? I don't know what's jokes and what isn't. I've never brought it to their attention, the most I do is report the posts and hope it gets taken down, but naturally, nothing happens to them.

Please help me figure all this out, if possible. If this is the wrong subreddit for this, I apologize.

btw, thank you all for educating me on a lot of men's issues.
