Simply put, I want to know what my fellow MRA's think about the prison system. We talk a lot about how women are imprisoned less harshly, or not at all, a lot on this sub, but are these sentences justifiable if the same leniency were granted to men? Or should women's prison sentences be raised to match that of men?

Mind you, I am not a fan of the Capitalistic Prison System here in America, or how it's starting to higher out people within the prisons for basic labor, or dangerous firework, so my perspective is biased in that way. I also don't feel the prison system does a good job of reforming it's prisoners, more often than not, it makes them worse. Exposing more human beings for longer periods to an environment of sociopathy and hostility is not going to make our society (America) better, especially when our prison incarceration rate is one of the highest in the world right now.

All of this points to the idea of reducing men's sentences, however this would also include reducing the sentences of existing Murderers, Rapists, and other high felony criminals. That's a hard pill to swallow, but I think it's a much better option than the alternative.
