What is the most important Men's Rights issue to you?

If I had to change one thing, and only one thing, I think recognition of men's issues. Not even the need to solve them, but to have the general public to acknowledge that these problems actually exist.

If you speak of rape culture, people will think of women being harassed, not that we ignore rape in prison.

So one change, it would be to simply be recognized as an equal human, with specific problems, and the ability to address / talk about issues without protests or people mocking it.

My top is shared parenting. Except in cases of abuse (with strong evidence), custody should be automatically shared.

After that, I'd like to see the end of Affirmative Action for women. Of every sort, completely.

Really really hard to say. On moral grounds I'd say circumcision, because nobody is more helpless and deserving of society's protection than newborn babies. Selfishly, I'd say the way the education system fails boys, because I've got a baby boy and I worry about his future. In a big-picture way, I'd say the Cult of Patriarchy is the lynchpin, the plug in the bottleneck stopping progress for men's issues. The common assumption that sexism is a one-way street prevents our issues from even being talked about in many fora, except in jest.

It's a tossup between onerous child support that has no basis in reality and academia from K-college being anti-male.

I guess the most important thing is following the money. Remove all the financial incentives, the cash & prizes women get for frivolous divorce and the state subsidizing single mothers, and we'd see a whole lot of things start to change for the betterment of men and society at large.

My main issue is the absolute degrading of masculinity and men that occurs daily everywhere, and the ideas about men and women that almost everyone holds.

If those ideas change I think the rest will change very quickly.

Not any specific issue, just the general view society has of women's issues v. men's issues. Men are 4 times more likely to commit suicide and 3 times more likely to be murdered... if those stats were the other way around, there would be massive public outrage. Hell, women make up less than 25% of homicide victims, and yet we declared violence against women to be epidemic while ignoring violence against men. When men were doing better in school, it was a problem. Now that women are doing better, it's actually viewed as cause for celebration.

Probably the worst example is council for women v. council for men. Federally, there is a Council for Women and Girls, and many states have something similar. Warren Farrell, supported by numerous academics and organizations, sought to have a Council for Men and Boys created 3 years ago... Obama ignored it.

Male disposability and the idea that women are oppressed.

It's causing pretty much every other problem, but I don't know what to do about that so I focus on law and calling out flawed research methodology.

Only men are drafted. 99% of military deaths are men. Women and children first. Who cares about the men? 75%+ of suicides are men. Who cares? 80% of the homeless are men. We should open women shelters!
