His life is still ruined

[–]Wisemanner 155 points156 points157 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I hope not, and I do note that they haven't named him. Also, there was, at last, some sympathetic comments from court officials. Perhaps prosecutors are beginning to realise that the main effect of a false claim is on the falsely-accused.

[–]a_posh_trophy 90 points91 points92 points 8 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

It should be the other way around; man is clear of all labels and charges. Woman goes onto a 'false accuser' list, like a sexual offenders list but so future accusations won't be taken so lightly and if found guilty again, the sentence becomes harsher.

[–]68696c6c 63 points64 points65 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you knowingly and maliciously falsely accuse someone of a crime, you should get the punishment for the crime you accused them of

[–][deleted] 20 points21 points22 points 8 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

As loathsome as these people are, a "false accuser list" would be a very bad road to go down.

Maybe I have too much faith in the police, but I'd hope in years to come, should she make another accusation, they'd keep her history in mind and the burden of proof be raised.

But a list of "women not to be believed"... don't get me wrong, I hope people like this have a really fucking hard time and thoroughly learn the error of their ways, but that list sounds like an exile to the barbarity of the world and in no way comparable to a "sex offenders register".

A Sex-offenders register, can be of great public interest (It's how a person gets on that list that is flawed).

EDIT: Oh, I see someone else has made a similar point and is currently in the minus figures. Classy /r/MensRights, very classy.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So you're saying there should be...a list?

[–]GothicDreamScape 16 points17 points18 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There was an obese lesbian woman in the UK who accused 15 men of rape. She was only imprisoned after the 15th case.

Beale’s first victim, Mahad Cassim, served two years and nine months in jail, while she received £11,000 in criminal injuries compensation following the alleged rape.

The court heard that she went on to make a string of false allegations that took up 6,400 hours of police time and cost at least £250,000.

Most lies began “impulsively” following drunken rows with girlfriends as she sought attention and to arouse jealousy.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/08/24/woman-falsely-accused-15-men-rape-sexual-assault-jailed-ten/

Amazingly, the judge condemned her for "making it more difficult for real victims to come forward". Apparently the men whose lives she ruined didn't count as "real victims."

You're basically of the same ilk. You think a false accuser is in no way comparable to a rapist. In fact, a successful false accusation entails a litany of crimes: slander, assault, false imprisonment for potentially decades, and in some cases repeated rape and torture behind bars (sexual offenders are often treated brutally by other inmates).

[–]notunhinged 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Falsely accused men end up on a register exposed to the 'barbarity of the world', what's the difference? The only difference I can think of is that a prosecution of a false accuser is always based upon evidence, but rape convictions can be based upon nothing more than testimony. Men are in a very vulnerable position.

[–]Sawses 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

a "false accuser list" would be a very bad road to go down.

I agree...but then, I also think a "sexual criminal list" is also a very bad road to go down.

[+][deleted] -12 points-11 points-10 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I mean...that would just create a list of easy rape victims. Especially if they're automatically ignored.

[–]twiztedterry 38 points39 points40 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

that would just create a list of easy rape victims

You mean in the same way that the sex offender registry creates a list of people who are easy to falsely accuse?

[–]afireinthesky 24 points25 points26 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Shouldn't have falsely accused someone then huh? Ever heard of the story of the boy who cried wolf?

[–]Fobiner 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

More like it as non-public list lol, like who benefits from that being public, more like just a record kept that when there is another court case she'll actually have the burden of proof.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

I get why I'm being downvoted on this sub, but what you're talking about already exists. If you're found guilty of a crime, such as false accusations, then it would show up on your record. You wouldn't need a special database for it...

Keep in mind that I advocate against any database. I don't agree with a database of false accusers just like I don't agree with a database of sex offenders. I think that the punishment for a crime should end after the sentence is complete.

[–]dukunt 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If its any consolation her life is more ruined. I do think that lies of this types should make her elegible to be put on a sex offenders list. People should know exactly what she is capable of, just like a registered sex offender and she is capable of crimes that are sexual in nature. False rape accusations are every bit as serious as rape.

[–]boringcarpets 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No. You'll note he isn't named, she is, her picture is there, she was sentenced and the guy is the victim - how it should be reported

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Was he named in the original story?

[–]boringcarpets 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope. You can find out if you try, but it's a far cry from a previous one where all the pictures are of the falsely accused guy, they named him, gave his occupation, school, age and area he lived

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's huge.

notice how women claim to be 'scared' of men becoming aggressive when they reject a man's advances.. I guess men should be afraid of being thrown in prison on false charges when they reject a woman.

of course, the man should be thrown in prison anyway, because he'll probably rape someone in the future, since he is a man after all.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

So are men's prisons in the UK. I've worked in a few recently... Cells referred to as "rooms". Inmates must be referred to as "Mr" - By inmates AND staff. Anyone wanting to enter a prisoner's "cell" must knock and be invited in. Flat screen TV's in every "cell". Internet access and mobile phones (monitored, but still).

While working at a few of these prisons, I would have wholeheartedly, rather stayed in the prison than the shitty B&B's and Premier Inns the company puts us in. And I ain't no princess about it, I could sleep on a wall if isn't too windy.

[–]nforne 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men's prisons in the UK are cushy? Sure, they're a lot nicer than US prisons. But they're harsh compared to Nordic prisons. But that doesn't matter. What matters is how they compare to women's prisons in the UK.

In Scotland, women inmates are treated far better than men. They adopted the recommendations of the Corston report, and are doing away with women's prisons altogether.

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-35544545

Look at the activities of the campaign group Women in Prison. They're a powerful organisation who are using their influence to tip the balance ever further in favour of women.

I am convinced that the majority of rape allegations in the UK are now false. Why? Because it is so easy for the woman to make an allegation and also there are financial incentives for them to make an allegation. We must be the only country in the world to pay money to women who claim to have been raped even if the man is found not guilty in a court.

[–]Wisemanner 83 points84 points85 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I think so too. And I agree that paying money is madness. They recently stopped paying compensation in Germany, and guess what? Yes, rape allegations fell sharply.

[–]furchfur[S] 72 points73 points74 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To add insult to injury: In the UK no money is paid out to a man falsely accused of rape since it is not classed as a violent crime! It is absolute madness.

Someone does not need to be convicted for them to pay out.

It is down for the Criminal injuries board to decide not a court.

See eligibility.

(Point 9, page 9)

"A person may be eligible for an award under this Scheme whether or not the incident giving rise to the criminal injury to which their application relates has resulted in the conviction of an assailant in any part of the United Kingdom or elsewhere"

The reality is that a woman can get money (minimum of £11000 for rape, page 68) under the scheme even if the CPS do not bring a case to court.

This has to be an incentive for some women to make false allegations of rape.

Motives for Filing a False Allegation of Rape - Feb 2017
Abstract: The list of motives by Kanin (1994) is the most cited list of motives to file a false allegation of rape. Kanin posited that complainants file a false allegation out of revenge, to produce an alibi or to get sympathy.
A new list of motives is proposed in which gain is the predominant factor. In the proposed list, complainants file a false allegation out of material gain, emotional gain, or a disturbed mental state. The list can be subdivided into eight different categories: material gain, alibi, revenge, sympathy, attention, a disturbed mental state, relabeling, or regret.
To test the validity of the list, a sample of 57 proven false allegations were studied at and provided by the National Unit of the Dutch National Police (NU). The complete files were studied to ensure correct classification by the NU and to identify the motives of the complainants. The results support the overall validity of the list. Complainants were primarily motivated by emotional gain.
Most false allegations were used to cover up other behavior such as adultery or skipping school. Some complainants, however, reported more than one motive.
A large proportion, 20% of complainants, said that they did not know why they filed a false allegation.
The results confirm the complexity of motivations for filing false allegations and the difficulties associated with archival studies. In conclusion, the list of Kanin is, based on the current results, valid but insufficient to explain all the different motives of complainants to file a false allegation.

The Truth Behind Legal Dominance Feminism's Two Percent False Rape Claim Figure
One highly respected legal academic, elected by her peers as president of the prestigious Association of American Law Schools, recently reported that "the overwhelming consensus in ... research relying on government data is that false reports account for only about 2 percent of rape complaints."
It is indisputably true that, largely through the efforts of legal dominance feminists, there now exists a consensus among legal academics that only two percent of rape complaints are false.
This purportedly empirical statement is ubiquitously repeated in legal literature. Dozens of law review articles reiterate that no more than one in fifty rape complaints is false. This empirical fact, however, is an ideological fabrication.

9 Year Study Of Rape Reporting In One Police Force, In One Town Showed That 41% Of Rape Claims Were False
Abstract: With the cooperation of the police agency of a small metropolitan community, 45 consecutive, disposed, false rape allegations covering a 9 year period were studied. These false rape allegations constitute 41% the total forcible rape cases (n = 109) reported during this period. These false allegations appear to serve three major functions for the complainants:
1. Providing an alibi
2. Seeking revenge
3. Obtaining sympathy and attention
False rape allegations are not the consequence of a gender-linked aberration, as frequently claimed, but reflect impulsive and desperate efforts to cope with personal and social stress situations.

Ahh right, I won't argue there are probably are a few here, but the majority don't feel that way. There's a lot of struggles that men face which are overlooked due to the current state of the world - we just want equality on both sides. I can see from your comment history that you seek to provoke people for the most part, I hope you choose to be more humble in the future.

I didn't see the comment, but even so, that is the comment of one individual of many who subscribe to the sub. Bad eggs are everywhere, we'll never escape them. But the article itself and the facts that surround it still maintain how poorly represented men are in court regarding such matters. These matters need to be discussed and debated in a proper format rather than condemning, provoking and further alienating people who are frustrated and letting their views get out of hand. Incels and the red pill subreddits are a cancer for men's rights as they appear to mainly consist of psycho's and ignorant idiot's and they will bleed over into subs like this, but again, it doesn't change facts. I'm all for calling them out, but I don't think you should openly target everyone with immature posts. I just don't see what you think you're achieving in doing so.

You lay out a great argument but I feel it sidesteps the content of this sub and its comments.

I don't think you've followed this sub properly if that's what you think. It's not all "bash women bash women" like you claim it is as there's a wide array of issue's covered here. Nothing is side stepped when facts are facts.

Bad eggs are everywhere? You can use that same argument for red pill. You obviously see the poison that seeps from those people, but maybe it's just a few bad eggs? It's not. You can use that argument for neonazis or incels out any other group.

r/theredpill is toxic. But they are there for the most part. And no one is using that argument for the likes of incels and neonazis either, those are festering communities of sick people, far removed from this sub.

Whenever I see the sub on the front page it's full of comments shitting on the current movement to empower women.

Feminism is one of the most toxic movements out there these days when you the likes of Alice Randall and Stephanie McKellop spouting bullshit like what's been covered recently and people like that fucking loudmouth 'Big Red' or whatever she's called who are attacking everyday guys who have nothing to do with oppressing women. I appreciate a strong woman and couldn't be prouder of how far women's rights have came. I believe - as the majority of men do - that men and women should be equal. However feminism's motto is blame the patriarchy, a term I just cannot accept when men are just as oppressed. I can only imagine you're laughing to yourself with that last one, which shows the damage feminism has done

Go through this thread and count how many times people discount the #metoo thing.

Actually you'll find there are few posts about it here and one of the more upvoted ones is in favour of it. Honestly, it's just a social media fad that will die as quickly as it's came and will do nothing for equality or adequate representation of harassment victims in the long run.

The point of 'a few bad eggs' saying is that a few will cause the rest to become rotten faster. I think this sums up my point well.

The likes of r/theredpill and r/incels most certainly are good examples of this, but there's a line here and I wouldn't be here if that line was crossed.

Look, we most definitely hold a difference of opinion, and that's okay. We're all individuals who hold different belief's over many different things, but we have to show respect and be civil with one another if we really hope to achieve anything. I take offense to a lot of things, but the person who offends me has a right to free speech as far as I'm concerned and are entitled to their opinion so long as they're not attacking, which is exactly what "hello incels" is - it's not a challenge it's an attack and you should try to see the bigger picture when you see something or read something that offends you. I doubt you'll watch it, but the documentary The Red Pill (which itself talks about how the subreddit of the same name has shit all over mens rights) is really worth a watch for some perspective of what I'm talking about. If you hate it and think it's shit then please feel free to message me and we can debate it because I love a good debate, but if you don't, I hope you take away a little enlightenment in regards to the world today. We're caught up in this ridiculous struggle of identity politics which is fueled by our true oppressors - the rich and powerful. All the arguing and infighting and the entire reason feminism began in the first place isn't because men were holding women back - it's because those in power have always dictated who gets what and women and men have both been fucked by them for a long time.

It's motto is BLAME THE PATRIARCHY. Blame Men. That as far as I'm concerned is a horrendous MO and serves only to further us from equality. The Men's Rights Movement doesn't say Blame Women For Everything, far from it. When women come under fire here, it's not an attack on your average decent woman, it's an example of some despicable cunt who's flattened some poor bloke due to our shitty government's gender favouring or an idiot Feminist who shares the same narrative as the rest, that men are the root problem. If you don't believe men are responsible for all the obstacles women face then you're not a feminist, you're simply a women's rights advocate - something a lot of women need to really consider in what it is they represent.

Look, I won't bash Feminism completely - when it first started out they made a lot of progress and challenged the right men who happened to be holding all the keys. But nowadays it most definitely doesn't serve the same purpose, to a degree where it's affecting young men's professions, education and in more extreme cases, their safety in the streets. This whole shitfest where Feminism and Antifa seem to have merged is destroying any hope for equality among genders because it's not just men in general being targeted now but white men in particular. Look at how the black lives matter movement suddenly spiralled into this insane, violent brigade - that movement was a good and needed one in order to fight for an entirely different set of rights - yet it's spiralled out of control and now you have these massive mixed crowds of BLM/Antifa/Feminist SJW's on a warpath to attack anyone who doesn't possess the same view as them, yet funnily enough not white women - unless they don't agree with them. I see nothing but controversy from these movements today and I desperately hope these people clean their acts up because we simply just cannot go on the way we are. Your hate for incels is shared by everyone, they're fucking gremlins. Your hate for Nazi's is shared by everyone, they're fucking scumbags. But just because someone challenges your narrative it does not automatically make them a part any of the aforementioned groups.

Do you know the basics on False Rape Allegations?

Evidently Not. Maybe you need to meme less and read valid sources?

Holy smug, batman!

Given the tone of your stupid posts I'll refrain from entertaining you further after this. You're a grade-A moron or troll.

Any retard who states that the advocacy for men's rights is akin to incels (legit woman haters) is either misinformed or dishonest. Or incredibly retarded, such as your case.

Darling - you claim to be condescending as a way to hide your self-appointed and grossly overinflated superiority?

Are you playing games with perception, or just so deluded you lack the capacity to see your own irrational and inane conduct clearly?

Oh Darling - again your make such Bald Assertion under the guise of rational discourse. Your Scots Feminut Phallacy of "No True Redditor" is juvenile in the extreme.

Well, you do have to divert from Redditors calling you Troll and Netopath - both language that has been about since the 1980's and from before the dawn of the Public Interwebs and your access to them!

Your behaviour is so forensically well defined you may need to try typing with a paper bag on your head in the hope that you won't be recognised.

Should she be punished?

My comments have nothing to do with this woman.

Do you understand why coming in to a thread and raging like this while making no attempt to discuss the actual topic comes across as trolling?

My comments are concerning the members of this sub who are using this one instance as proof that women lie about rape more often than not.

Wasn't that a single person?

1 < all.

I never once defended this woman in this specific case.

Could you condemn her or suggest a fair punishment?
