Everytime I use the bathroom while standing up, as a male, I usually just leave the seat up. Not like anyone cares right? But my sister and mom both hate it. The first time it happened was when my sister found it. She yelled at me to close it, so I just laughed, its so easy. She tells our mom, and she tells me to put it down. "Put the seat down, its rude to women." "If you dont, ill ground you for the day" I argued for a few minutes, being pissed, before having to put it down. It happened a few more times accidently, and I even noted how both my mom and sister never put the toilet paper on properly when it ran out. So I would always take off the old one, and grab the new one they leave on the counter, and have to replace it often whenever I would shit. Even when my friends left it up, she or my sister would make me put it down, "Its your friend, your responsibility". The 2nd time a friend left it up, they told me that if it happened again, I would be grounded for a day. So now I had to check the bathroom when a friend came over, and I caught some close calls. Also whats bullshit, is when my sister leaves her nasty smelling, blood stained, period pads in the trash can, or on the counter in her panties, and other clothes from the shower. I would conplain to mom, and atleast she agreed with me. But didnt make her do anything.

As a woman I never thought it was rude when the seat was lift. It just tells me that the last person using it was a man, like it's not the end of the world to just touch the seat and put it down when I would be washing my hands after anyways. Question their double standards "Well, by keeping the seat down all the time, aren't you being disrespectful to men?" Prepare for stupidity and zero logic though, it's clear to me that your mom and sister have an inflated sense of entitlement.

Or put saran wrap under the seat.

Or put a few drops of red food coloring (or koolaid) in the tank.

I once got sick of the complaints, and grabbed a screwdriver and removed the whole damn seat and hid it.

Ah, grasshopper, the victor in the toilet seat power struggle is decided by numbers.

I grew up in an all-male household, except for my mum. She gave up all hope of having the seat kept down before I was even born.

Today I'm the only guy in an all-female household, and I'm under pressure to conform to their seat-down rules.

The middle ground is that everyone should put the lid down, but given you're the only guy, you don't have much bargaining power.

Leave home, and if you have children, hopefully sex selection is available, then you can build an army of sons. Play the long game.

Nothing more than pure female chauvinism and entitlement. Their attitude is incredibly sexist and toxic. They should not expect the seat to be put down for them, they should simply be adjusting the seat to their desired position when they go to use it. The fact that so many women not only make this an issue but actually feel like that should just be the position that men set for them by default(or that men, as second class citizens, should just cater to their demands without question) is insane, and you shouldn't let them convince you that its your responsibility to set the toilet for them(just like it isn't your responsibility to wipe their asses).

I will have e to scour the internet for it, bit at some point someone did an energy analysis for toilet seat position and determined Mathematically that leaving the seat in the position after you've used it is the most efficient method. E.g. you're standing you leave the seat up, you're sitting leave the seat down. When I find it I will post.

Sabortage the cistern with a "fixable repair" after you use it and put the seat down so they do not suspect you. Each time the toilet malfunctions, volunteer to fix it. Within a few days you will be elevated to god status and will get way with blue murder including pissing all over the floor.

A "fixable repair" is a wonderful skill to have. It will save an awful lot of grief if you partner up.

Close the entire lid. Make them to the same amount of work.

If you forget, then tell them, "I'm sorry. I keep forgetting that you two idiots are too stupid to check and see if the toilet lid is down before sitting. I shouldn't assume, because you are women, that you would accept any responsibility for you failing to look down before you sat, so it really is completely up to me, a man, to ensure the toilet seat is down because you are incapable, as a woman, of doing so."

Always put the seat and the lid down before flushing. This is simply to avoid the invisible aerosol created by the inrush of water, that then settles on everything in the bathroom.
