Not knocking the self care at all, I think buying presents for yourself is a good idea! But be careful about tiktok and consumerism. There's a LOT of undisclosed sponsorships and things. get a lot of pinterest 'im a compulsive shopper who takes the term *retail therapy" way to literally and I may or may not be carrying a balance on my credit cards month to month" vibes from a lot of tiktoks, and with how their alrogrithm works it's SO easy to get pulled into that corner of conspicuous consumption.

NOT trying to accuse you of that. You bought cheap treats and hobby based stuff, and all things you'd use. Just wanted to say to be careful about those shopping/product trends because your algorithm can quickly pull you into really glorified 45 second commercials that can be manipulative and imo predatory considering the average tiktok users age.

With that said -- THAT SEWING KIT IS SO CUTE!!

I got so sick of crappy Christmas gifts. So I put myself on my Christmas shopping list. I’ve been doing this for a few years now. I budget to buy myself something non-essential that I really want and will use.

This is the opposite of sad, and actually inspired me to do the same thing! I just went out and got myself a new sketchpad, some nice markers, pencils... everything I need to pick up drawing again, a hobby that fell y the wayside when I was a teenager and that I'd love to get back into!
