Dating inequality is a cause of frustration for both men and women. In fact it probably leads to a good bit of misogyny and misandry (from both sides) because of this frustration.

But the second a man opens his mouth about it he is shamed and attacked and called a sexless incel.

Which is nothing more than victim blaming and only serves to make the problem worse (it's basically the textbook definition of "toxic masculinity" for people who buy into that narrative... not that many of the people who peddle that narrative would admit to that).

And the fact a shitload of women are still into playing games doesn't help much either. Most of the girls ended up in my bed, in the beginning were trying to act like they weren't that interested. A lot of women out there either don't understand their own minds, or are piss poor at communicating their thoughts, or maybe both. In order to be adept at navigating the courtship minefield as a man, you need to be able to pick up on subtle cues and shit, because most women are not going to come out and tell you what you want to know lol.

I think that catcalling and street harassment are not really a genuine attempt to get sex or a relationship. I do not think that the people who do this really think that women are going to turn on their heel and say "take me now, you vocal beast!"

That being said, I agree that the DELUGE of unwanted attention that women receive is intimately connected with the fact that as a whole, men make the first move.

What is the solution? If men simply stopped pursuing women, presumably eventually women would come round and do some of the pursuing. But a huge percentage of men would need to be united in this strategy to effect social change.

Similarly, if women started pursuing men in swaths (and categorically rejecting/punishing attempts at pursuit) this imbalance could be rectified. But women would have to do it en masse to effect any real change.

Both of these groups would need a coordinated large scale effort to effect change.

The woman then thinks this is her attractiveness level, which it is clearly not.

you can observe the same behavior in many animals. male animals trying to impress females (with feathers, dances, horns or fights) so they can mate. it’s the result of females trying to get the best partner, because they can only get one baby once in a while, while males could literally make multiple babies every day.

Perhaps dating inequality can be reduced by legislation criminalising date fraud.

Modern or pre-modern feminism achieved considerable success by demonising any male activity it dislikes, building upon society's gynocentrism. No legislation was too absurd or too intrusive.

For example, several countries have criminal rape-by-fraud statutes, under which the male has committed rape if he gets a female into bed by misrepresenting himself, his career, his income, etc.

So, even if ultimately unsuccessful, men should make a counter-proposal of law criminalising date fraud, in which women mis-represent their (lack of) romantic interest in a bloke just in order to get the advantages of paid dates: meals, theatre, sometimes gifts & jewellery, etc.

The reasons behind this dating inequality are biological in nature. It's not going anywhere anytime soon. But, if all goes well, in a couple of centuries we'll be shiny metal objects or perhaps we live within computers. Then we can have no dating at all - or exactly the kind of dating we want: men having orgiews and women strong silen funny guys who adore them.
