I find this appalling, and characteristic of the issues men are facing all over the US. Mothers receive support, while fathers receive disregard. My condolences to anonymous Ohio father.

Why don't these issues make the news? Why don't more people get angry about this? This is an abuse of the system that can be easily addressed. We can change this. Is it really because people don't care? Even in the Men's Rights sub, a picture of baby changing rooms gets more attention than the real issues. If you're reading this, and you're not upset, Why?

Also, is anyone out there also experiencing something similar?

My dad sees me one weekend a month. It’s not his fault he just lives in another town, the visitation he got was supposed to be every Thursday and every other weekend. I’m just glad I see him this often, can’t wait till Christmas when I get to see him( I’m with him for Christmas). My dad is my super hero and always will be.

The problem is that in many states it is stacked against the mail. The mail has no rights. Women hold all the cards. They hold all the Reproductive Rights. And they hold all of the playing cards. This may sound crazy but personally I am not that attracted sexually to man but I have dated men because they do not act irrational. I have had too many women act irrational and crazy in my life that they're not worth dating and they're not worth the sex. I have a child on my own but it is not with a woman that I ever dated. I will also say that the system can be used the other way also. There is a woman in my mom's office who was beat and abused but for some reason he now has visitation to the child he beat and abused (it is monitored). He also makes himself to be a victim and get anything he can from the woman because she planned and has money while he doesnt. I agree there are several cases where the father is cut out and shouldnt be, but there also some cases where the father is allowed in and shouldn't be

This is the all too common outcome men experience in Family Law services in the UK, Australia, Canada and the US. Any attempt to argue for equal shared parenting, as a man, is met with this kind of aggressive sexist attack on fathers.

Working as a lawyer in family law, my advice to fathers was to be prepared for the worst. Approaching the Family Courts with an assumption of equalilty before the law, more often than not results in fathers being removed from their children's lives and only being allowed "supervised" contact for several years, on the basis of false accusations never proven, challenged or supported by evidence.

As far as the he said/she said thing goes, yeah basically all statements made by the mother are taken as fact. At least in my experience. The best strategy is to try to get on the mothers good side since if she does not want you in what is legally HER child’s life then that is what will happen. By the time the kid is old enough to make their own decision their opinion of the father has been poisoned by years of the mothers influence.

Reality sucks.

Yes. I feel like a criminal for wanting to be a dad, and I've never even had sex. In fact that's part of the reason why: I've been scared to date all my life because I knew I wanted to be a father one day. No matter what I do a woman could kill my child and get away with it so she can avoid responsiblity for being a mother, yet no matter what I do I could end up in your situation and have to work for years to support what is said to be her decision and receive no benefit.

After thinking about this for long enough I now fully support deadbeat dads. No rights, no responsibility.

If society wants us to care about our kids then we need to be allowed to have some kind of stake in them. Otherwise it is sheer hypocrisy to ask men to be parents. No matter how neglectful or even abusive a father is society in general has no right to blame him, because they have deliberately given women opportunities to do the same while claiming sexism is wrong.

Women can literally kill their kids and get celebrated for it and then still be considered the more nurturing sex to the point men can be literally discriminated against because of those sterotypes and have that illegal behavior totally ignored. Meanwhile a man like you can work his ass off to try and be a good father and get treated like scum for it and barely get sympathy.
