Society teaches them that men are lead by our groin, that we're predatory, and will fuck anything that looks female. They're also judged harshly by their ability to attract men. Lots of guys work from a position of subsistence, instead of abundance. So when a woman faces rejection, for most of them it's a narcissistic injury( not calling them narcissist, narcissistic injury is a psychological term, it can happen to anyone when the core of their identity is challenged).

Food for thought people, women control the dating market, men control the marriage market. Apply this bit of wisdom as you see fit.

I have not had your experience exactly, but I realized a lot of women assume I'm hitting on them for just asking them common sense questions or explaining them something in my work.

It is kind of stupid, as they look at you like "how dare you be hitting on me". Bitch, you are a fat whale. No one is into you unless they are very desperate.

Sometimes my lesbian neighbor hit on me, which is concerning as she is hot and beautiful, but also I fear her partner may flat my car tires so I ignore her. I mean, she lives next door. This suggests that dating for men can be very risky too, especially because women put mixed signals and love plausible deniability. They love playing with feelings and false hopes, just as player men do but on sexual contexts. So genders indeed play each other, sadly.

Same reason why a lot of dudes can't handle rejection: ego. It's just the human condition at work. I will say though, women probably experience rejection less often than guys do, so it likely hits them harder when it does happen.

Spoiled. They don't encounter the rejection that men deal with on a daily base.

Back in the day, getting a man to provide for them was their only way of surviving. It's rooted deep into genes. Without that trait, they likely would have died off. They can't help but want a man to be attracted to them because that equates to her being able to use him to provide and get resources. The fear that a man exist out there who wouldn't protect her or wouldn't bend over backward for her cause a discontent in them. Even if they have 100s of other guy's lined up to do those things for her.

I’ve let down a few women who accepted it gracefully. there isn’t really a way to say this that isn’t both vain and arrogant, but they all seemed rather self aware of the fact that I was much better looking than they were, and one of them was definitely aware that I was dating a more conventionally attractive woman.

there were about as many girls who definitely took it poorly, though.
