In my opinion it does not matter where you go to college, what matters is your feminine mindset and characteristics. If anything, going to a community college where you will end up with less debt compared to other women is beneficial.

Do HVM care about where you go college? No.

Is an ADN employable in your area? I’d research that to figure out your transfer pattern. ADN as a new grad is not employable in major metropolitan areas filled with Magnet hospitals.

Go straight to BSN.

But nursing is hard. You might not like it. ADN will be less money to take that risk.

The amount of debt you are in and if you have an employable skill will matter more to a man than ADN vs BSN.

No guy in the US is going to care about where you went to college. Unless he's stuck in his parents' frame and they care, but who wants a guy in his parents' frame? Even employers aren't going to care where you went for college. (Or if you even have a degree, in some fields that aren't regulated by law like nursing. Even though my program is clearly labeled a certificate on my resume I had several recruiters assume I had a bachelor's because they only glanced at my education section.)

What men often do care about: - Your student loans and other debt - Your plans regarding a career once you have kids

Heads up, my nursing friends say the stereotypes about nurses are true. You may want to signal religiosity/conservatism more than you normally would during the introductory so-what-are-you-in-school-for phase.

If you're 18, have you considered taking a gap year to be an EMT or CNA? This would only help your college prospects as it shows dedication to the medical field, and from personal observation the kids who had work experience under their belt treated college differently and got more out of it than the kids who had less life experience. They could be nearly the same age but had night and day attitudes due to a well-used gap year. It could also help you be sure you're keen on this career path and avoid costly degree regret, which is unfortunately becoming a more and more common experience.

Mine did because that’s where I met him, we share the same level of drive and passion for what he has now turned into a business, because I’ve got the same education as him he considers me a vital part of his business and favourite person to bounce his work ideas off of. Most women don’t get the privilege of being so involved in their man’s working life, I did, because of the college I went to.

I would say generally, it depends on the man, If say most men don’t care but many men do want certain aspects in a woman that correlate mentally with a school/education. Depends on if you’re seeking that type of man, overall I’d say they don’t but it doesn’t mean you should pick your college based on that.

So as guy who is over 6’ tall, makes bank, and has 2 grad degrees, I will say this, for the record:

Not only do I not care where a girl went to college, I don’t care if she went to college.

In fact, I would have a lot more respect for a woman who went to community college to get a degree that has a practical application, such as nursing, than a woman who went to an Ivy League and got a degree in in Woke Loserdom. Even more so if the ivy leaguer racked up thousands of dollars worth of debt in obtaining her useless degree.

What do men care about?

Three things.

Is she attractive to me? Deep down in our soupy, primordial brains, we care about a .7 waist-to-hips ratio (the “hourglass”), facial symmetry (this registers as “beauty”) and the length and condition of a woman’s hair (you can tell a lot about a woman’s health based on this.)

Can I have a conversation with her? The ivy leaguer may be smart, but if her sole topic of conversation is how I am part of the the “Oppressive Patriarchy”, then the first date is going to be over quick and there’s not gonna be a second one.

Is she a warm person? Men want a woman to be their “peace”. Some soothing words and a sympathetic ear is going to get you further than launching on him after work about whatever problems need to be solved or that Jimmy punched Bobby at school today and made him cry. That can wait a bit.

A university degree might improve a woman’s RMV but not her SMV. Ex “That law degree look so sexy on you!” -said No Man, Ever.

About nurses. On the one hand, that’s a practical set of skills that will come in handy in the home. On the other hand, some guys don’t like to date nurses, because flexible work schedules mean flexible cheating schedules. And don’t get me started on travel nurses. Well, not me personally, it’s just a figure of speech.

No, there will be the exception which will be ”Yes, but I married an uber rich guy from an old money family from New York that really liked that I had a degree in French literature from Princeton.” That’s all well and good, but it’s not 99.5% of people.

Some won’t care at all, some high status/high attaining men absolutely will want a wife/the women raising their children to have an educational background that includes a bachelor’s from a good state (or more prestigious) school. The cost of living/distribution of wealth and culture in your environment will have an impact here, but where I live your chances of marrying a high value man who would make enough for you to stay at home with 2-3 kids would be negatively affected by not having a bachelors from a good school. (The guys who care will want this in addition to attractiveness/personality.)

Edit: Based upon what you are seeking, you may want to consider blue collar guys (they will be far less likely to care about the college piece and more likely to embody the traditionalism that you are seeking in a partner ). A lot make decent money but not necessarily stay-at-home wife with 2-3 kids type money— unless you are in a more modest cost of living environment and/or a place with a good job market for these types of workers. Just something to consider :)

I’ll throw this out there, it’s a no mostly but a yes in some circles of HVM. In my circles, it’s an absolute yes. My husband is a PhD economist, catholic, wants 3 children, and has made me a SAHM. In his words, he dated women who didn’t go to college, but he married one who went to a good one.

It depends. If you study business management at a uni in the bottom 10% percentile, that's not great, as its a sign of educational failure at the earlier stages... But if you study something practical, like nursing? then it doesn't matter. And thinking about less debt is indeed a great bonus.

No man who is looking for a wife and mother to his kids expects her to be a workaholic. True, there are “HVM” who want a woman who is making good money so they can build an empire together, but you’re probably more likely to see that from childfree men. A man who wants a wife and family while he makes enough money to support you doesn’t want a wife who’s always working. It’s far easier to spend quality time together when one person doesn’t have a demanding job. Nursing is demanding, but as long as you aren’t taking on too many shifts while in a relationship, there is no problem.

Men do not care which school you went to… when they introduce you to their family and friends, they aren’t going to lead with “and she went to {community college}”. They won’t be embarrassed of your education, they just want a quality partner who can take care of herself and him, and that’s what will make him proud to show you off.

That being said, you’re still a teenager, and boys are immature and prioritize the wrong things. When I was your age I was taking a BA, and my boyfriend was doing a double major in neuroscience and computer science. He was sooo embarrassed that I wasn’t on his level that he would make up fake accomplishments that I’ve achieved when introducing me to his friends, like that I spoke 5 languages fluently. The people would always be so impressed, while I felt terrible about myself and also awkward accepting praise for something that I didn’t even achieve. I highly doubt most guys are like that, but some are immature and elitist.

Hi! Some personal advice… go to a community college and save your money. When you get your BSN, a prestigious school is not worth it if the price tag is ridiculous. A man will not care about the school you went to. The truth is, that men love to brag about their women. “My gf/wife is a nurse” is a brag in itself. Please prevent going into debt as much as you can! Nursing is a great job. I know many nurses who are happy wives and mothers because the schedule can be so flexible.

I’m 18 and planning on attending a Community College to receive my ADN to become a registered nurse. Would this deter any HVM from pursuing me? Most men will care little about your education because they care little about their own. Intelligent, well-educated men tend to seek smart, educated partners. A good school may add to your education, but you can become well educated through a variety of routes. Wherever you study, your education will be what you make it. You get as much out as you put in.
