Data of interest: Forbes 2022 "America's Richest Self-Made Women" https://www.forbes.com/self-made-women/

On the usage of the term "self-made": Forbes runs a scale assigning 1 to a person who got all their wealth from another person and did nothing to expand it, and 10 to a person who was born poor but reached the wealthy status. Forbes uses the term "self-made" for people who get 6 or above on this scale.

Important conclusions: among fifteen richest American self-made women, none are childless, all but one are married, remarried, divorced, or widowed (one "with a partner", Oprah), and the average fertility is 3.13 children per woman, higher than the average that US has seen ever since 1964. The youngest sample member is 61 years old.

Among 27 women within 100 richest who are under 50, 7 (26%) are childless, and average fertility is 1.63 children per women (including the childless ones) or 2.2 (excluding them). One child was excluded since it was born after the data was collected. World Bank data lists fertility rate in the US as 1.6 in 2019 and 1.7 in 2020. Worth noting that 7 women of the list are 35 or younger, and 17 are younger than 44, and thus considered not yet at the end of their reproductive window.

Under-50s by marital status: 6 are single, 14 married, 4 divorced, 3 "with a partner".
