For perspective, I’m 5’6, two inches taller than the average US woman. In the past, my philosophy when dating men was “as long as he’s my height or taller, I’m fine with it”. So my last boyfriends were 5’6 and 5’8 which never was a real issue. It was a bummer when we went out to my formal sorority events and I was taller than them in heels but nothing relationship ending worthy. We broke up for other reasons that weren’t height related.

My current boyfriend is a 6’1 Chad and I definitely understand what the girls say about dating taller guys. Our height difference just makes me feel more safe and protected, and it makes me feel super feminine which is perfect because I’m a total girly girl. I definitely feel more secure compared to how I felt with my exes.

My friends and I were talking about height preferences and I realized that if I were ever single again, I would probably only date guys who are at least 5’11. But , 5’11 men are two inches taller than the average US man just like I’m two inches taller than the average US woman. Is that a fair dealbreaker or no?
