Like someone else said, there is no female equivalent to height. Men's height preferences are too mild compared to women's. You can't view the sexes as some sort of balanced game system where everyone cares equally about the other gender's traits equally. Or of they care less about one, then they care more about the other and vice versa. In reality, it's all very asymmetrical.

It's not right or wrong either, but you can understand why it makes us salty and frustrated. I wonder how unattractive men of the future will cope when this becomes increasingly more common.

what you dont seem to understand that you being above average height doesnt equal to a man being above average in height. because men and women are different, both genders desire different things. women want tall men, but men dont really prefer tall women, they prefer a better face/better body. and women prefer men with more money and tall men. so if you want tall men, you dont need more height, you need a better body/face. because smv of men depends on face height looks money status, but womens smv depends on only looks and body. so no, you are wrong. being above average height is not the same for men and women. a taller man would date women that he prefers, and that doesnt mean he will date taller women, it means he will date better looking women with a better body. let me give an example: men prefer women with a certain body type and bigger breasts because its better for child birth and she also has to be young for having / giving birth to children, but if a man choses a tall woman he has no benefits, because he is already tall.

Here an another interesting study, it shows how competition increases for both genders if one person is taller or shorter. For men, the competition for one woman gets way bigger if he has smaller height because most women prefer dating taller men. But for women, womens height doesnt even make a difference at competition. For a woman being 150 - 170cm height.....no difference in dating, even if a woman has 145cm-180cm height, it doesnt make dating for her harder or easier....but for men, if his height is 150 - 180cm it makes dating for him 14 TIMES HARDER because women CARE FOR HEIGHT. but men DONT CARE FOR HEIGHT because for women her competition nearly doesnt change with height. Another proof for everything i said above.

Eh. Have you ever examined or reflected on what it is about a taller man that makes you feel "safe and protected" over shorter men? Or why you have come to link feelings of safety, protection, femininity, etc. specifically to being with taller men? Realistically, what is it that the 5'11"+ guy is doing that a 5'whatever guy can't besides existing as a tall guy.

At its very core, I think a lot of dating hang-ups for men and women are nothing but mental gymnastics to justify shallowness and *insecurity.

I think your preferences are a little too shallow and you should be more focused on inner beauty than you are. Studies have shown there is no correlation between height and relationship success. Feel safe with your taller partner? The person most likely to assault you is your partner. This is why a quality partner is more important than a tall one. And I'm not some bitter short dude.
