I think it's a lot more than you think. I don't believe they are all socially awkward weirdo men sitting in mums basement, because all the men i've crossed paths with that have RP-adjacent/PUA mentality have all been good-looking, seemingly well-adjusted prior to being radicalised, have had gf's, go out alot, look extremely normal on the outside but are so incredibly radicalised on the inside but hide it well.

Probably higher considering the people who do not know the term and have been poisoned with a misogynistic mindset by society, friends, family, etc.

I think the 80-20 rule really applies here. I wrote up something about this:

Based on the ratio of estimated rapists and estimated rape victims, the WORST number (5 victims per 1 rapist) means that it only takes 3.2% of the male population to rape 16% of all US women. Not great… but this is very much a minority of both groups. This is just a 5 to 1 ratio.
Using the SAME RATIO of 5 to 1, and applying it to 100% of women in the US, it only takes 20% of the male population to harass 100% of women in the US.

Basically about 20% of ANY group is made up of aholes, but aholes are also the folks most likely to cause problems with folks outside of their group. So you are just more likely to ENCOUNTER aholes when they don't like you, then to notice them when they are part of your group.

Or to put it another way for every group of 5 friends - 1 of those folks is likely an ahole. The friends don't think of THEIR ahole as an ahole because they aren't an ahole to the group, just to folks OUTSIDE of the group. And their ahole behavior is typically HILARIOUS to the rest of the group. I'm not even saying that these aholes are EQUALLY aholish either... some aholes are bigger than others. But when you are looking at men, women, or humans - for every 100 in that group, its likely that 20 of them are aholes to one extent or another.

Actual statistics, idk, but I take my rough idea from being a substitute teacher for a number of years. This sort of behavior starts in middle/high school, so it's a good place to get an idea. I worked at 12ish school districts in VA and PA (so being East Coast US is a bias) in rural (VA), suburban (both Va and PA), and urban (Philly) areas. I would have probably estimated that 2-10 per 100 guys would be like this.

One of the sad/weird part about this is guys like this almost always describe themselves as "just average" or "just normal." A high school of 800 people (400ish guys) could have 100 guys on various sports teams, but somehow the 10-30 very quiet, but also very bitter, dudes consider themselves the "normal" ones.

Here's the thing though, outwardly acting like a blank slate and refusing to take any social chances out of an outsized fear of rejection isn't "normal" or "average." The behavior of the of the goths, jocks, preps, theater nerds, etc. are far more normal. Trying things out, finding your niche, dressing different ways, experimenting, and taking social chances are more "normal" human behaviors.

This is hard to quantify because first you’d have to define what the “incel mindset” is, which many self-identified incels themselves cannot even agree on.

Many young dudes I see on Reddit call themselves incels because they are virgins, like 14-16 year olds! At that age, it’s completely normal to be a virgin. Most people that age are! But because of the online echo chambers and whatever self-esteem issue/bullying a kid is going through, he might identify with the incels online for a sense of community, releasing frustration because he’s a hormonal teen going though changes, or whatever reason. I am hopefully most of these young ones will grow out of it once they get more real world experience.

Then you have trolls, bullies, alt right folks who are just looking for turmoil online. You run into these people probably the same places you’d run into alt-right MAGA folks.

Then you have the people who are really deep in the rabbit whole and chronically stuck online. Usually people with more severe mental healths stuff going on or disabilities. I imagine these are the type of folks who you wouldn’t run into at all, like the chronically at home type of fella.

So I guess you can’t “spot” one unless you talk to the person about their views/values and thoughts on women/sex/virginity. I believe the full on hateful incel mindset people are a very small minority. Mostly it’s just young dudes frustrated about the complexities of dating and discovering their own self worth but they call themselves incels because identifying with a group/tribe makes people feel like they belong and aren’t alone in their situation.

It really isn't a lot just up and about. A lot of us are average men and women going about in everyday life. And I personally believe the men and women having trouble with the opposite sex end in more of a tough break. Most of those incel Kats are just in online echo chambers. The extreme ones at least. It's like me trying my hardest to find someone with a serial killer mindset. Are they out there, yeah. But I'm alive. No point in dwelling that I might get killed one day. Just enjoy yourself outside and don't mix internet Convo with real life. Oh and for God sake. Just because someone had an opinion that came from redpill, does not mean they're redpill.

Not many I know follow it but there are bunch who are at risk. Its a struggle keeping them and even myself sane. One dude might be all about AT and be full on then another doesnt like women and just doesnt date them. Plenty who have the ideas but handle it better with healthier coping mechanisms.
