They love to say "women couldn't even own property", and that's a full blown lie. Women could not only own property they could own people. Martha Washington was one of the largest slave owners in the nation at the time George married her.

I mean, blaming slavery on white people, at all, is a stretch; African slaves were originally enslaved by other Africans, the Arabs dominated the trade until the 17th century, and up until 1453, most slaves came from Eastern Europe ("Slav" is where the word comes from).

You can't even argue for historical inequities, as the Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe are, right now, the target of an ethnic cleansing campaign supported by the "real" white people of Western Europe and North America.

Someone here posted a great link to an article about the real history of suffrage and how some of the biggest opponents were women. The article also included some of the privileges afforded women 100 years ago. A man had a lot of obligations to a wife, a wife didn’t have to a husband. Property might be recorded in his name, but a wife’s signature was required for any sale so it was effectively joint property. The burden of property tax was of course his.

Feminists often claim no women could vote prior to 1920 which is B.S. There are instances of women voting in colonial America. Feminists claim women weren’t legally allowed to work in early America, again complete bull. There were women who owned slaves. Many of the first slaves imported to the Americas were white and of course Native Americans nations practiced slavery.

The facts often don’t support feminist agenda so they make up new facts that do and that includes re-writing history, and we see this with identity politics beyond feminism as well.

While I sympathize with your post, it should be clear to everyone that whites didn't "invent slavery". It has been practiced by all races the world over, and in much more brutal ways, well before the USA was created. In the USA history there were even some blacks and natives that owned slaves.

What is interesting is that the only other people that end slavery is the Chinese. But that doesn't last long and far less determined.

Ultimately it's white people that end slavery.

The reasons are similar. Competition among jurisdiction promote freedom among subjects I think.

In US, higher technology in the north means without slavery, the northerner can simply pay those slaves better wage.

Slavery was desired by slave owners because they can't compete with northern factory owner's salary.

It turns out paying free people salary is cheaper than enslaving them. Positive incentives work.

I hate how white people in general are blamed solely for slavery.

People of all races were sold into slavery by their own people.

Soldiers would capture the enemy and enslave them and they would be used as property or workers.

The African slaves sold their fellow country men into slavery after invading other villages. This happened all over the world.

It wasn't till many years later that "the white man" came with their boats to take slaves.

By then they were trading with local chiefs for the slaves they had. Many even being exchanged for bags of grain or alcohol.

It's a narrative that no one seems to want to admit to.

Years ago I'm school I spoke up for the only white kid in class(the Bronx circa 1990 something). She kept getting bullied for the "crimes of her ancestors" even though her family was from Poland and they had no proof she ever had anyone related to her who owned slaves. They tried to suspend me for what I was saying. There was slavery everywhere. White people weren't the first or only people who profied from it and most of the people complaining of this don't know that slavery of Africans by Africans is STILL HAPPENING TODAY. And the rest don't care as long as they can blame "the white man".
