My wife filed for divorce in November 2022, and though I haven't signed the papers, the case is ongoing, with the main focus on parenting time. In 2023, she had 75%, and I had 25%. Following a new trial, my percentage increased to 32%, but I'm still striving for equal parenting time.

During a recent visit to pick up my daughter, her mom was unkind, blaming me for taking our daughter's assets. She insisted that my daughter's money was earned through hard work and suggested that, as a man, I should make my own money. I explained that I didn't want her assets, but she refuses to share parenting time until court.

We were married for four years, having dated for four years prior. Everything was fine until I moved into her mom's house. Despite suggesting renting or buying a condo with my savings, we ended up living with her family due to our newborn daughter. I quit my job to freelance so I could take care of my daughter, while my wife made more money. We didn't share expenses; instead, I contributed money for baby essentials like diapers, toys, and milk. During the pandemic, my mother-in-law helped care for our daughter. Ever since I moved into the house, I made substantial contributions to the family, covering expenses such as gas, water, takeouts, and addressing household repairs like repairing the back balcony, fixing a leaking toilet, building a concrete path, constructing a storage house, and buying a new fridge.

Living with her family became stressful because I didn't get along with them, and even my wife doesn't really talk to me. I chose to stay upstairs, even during time with my daughter. I sensed that my mother-in-law didn't like me from the beginning. I remember the first day in her house; I offered to clean up the living room, and she said it was already clean and treated me unkindly. As time went by, tensions rose, especially with her younger brother, who easily became angry. One day, during a conversation about Covid with him, he became extremely mad and hit the gas pedal really hard.

On another occasion, my daughter broke a small dish. I cleaned up and put it in the trash, covering it with another trash bag, but my mother-in-law found out and blamed me for breaking her dish. Eventually, I moved back to my mother's place but continued to care for my daughter at her mom's house. However, in November 2022, she asked me to talk to her lawyer, and since then, she hasn't really communicated with me, and there is a restriction preventing me from seeing my daughter.

I've tried to avoid divorce, but my wife insists. I don't know what will happen after I sign the papers. I fear that my daughter will grow up in a broken family, and the thought breaks my heart. I believe my mother-in-law is the one who broke our marriage; she has been talking negatively about me behind my back.

Guys, Should I take some of her asset? She was been nice to me. Now she doesn't even want to talk to me...
