Because college isn't primarily about job training. It's a way to develop critical thinking, speaking, reading, and writing skills. It helps you discuss and learn about the world in different ways. It exposes you to different ideas, cultures, etc. Most educated women find this desirable.

Also, because of the historic premium on college and white collar work, most men who are smart and curious go to college. It doesn't need to be that way, and maybe it won't continue to be, but for now college education is a good proxy for traits a lot of women want (even excluding earning power).

Because it's not just about how much you make. It's the connotation that comes with the job and how society views it. You can make 200k as a plumber, but if you tell people "I'm a plumber", they'll think of Mario and you touching toilets or something, not the part where you make a shit load of money.

In society, the prestigious jobs are doctors, lawyers, finance, etc. Another example I personally know is software engineers. I know a few of them making a load of money (500k+), but people are never impressed by it. However you take a family doctor making 200k, that is a lot more impressive sounding.

It has very little to do with logic or facts (both of which I have been told are tools of the patriarchy, and used to oppress women).

Women go to extreme and ridiculous lengths to impress other women.

The ridiculous hair. The ridiculous fingernails. The ridiculous tarantula eyelashes.

Surveys have conclusively, proven that none of this is significantly attractive to men, but these are all things that women use to impress other women.

Getting a man that doesn’t have a college education doesn’t score you any points in the woman versus woman contest.

The fact that that man may be comfortably into six figures as a welder, or a plumber, or an electrician, and have a very secured job for life does not matter in the woman versus women’s scorekeeping.

They would much rather date, a college, educated entrepreneur, with a leased Mercedes, living in his mom’s basement, but with an excellent Gucci belt collection.

About the time that their youth has expired, they’ll start to consider lowering themselves to marry a working man. Unfortunately for them, they don’t have much leverage anymore, as the accumulated damage from all of the failed relationships and the kids in tow make her a poor choice for a hard-working man.

I honestly don't know.

I have had a great life funded by getting g a trade early.

I have progressed through education and am doing similarly to my sister who got a degree and slaved away.

I also am progressing to engineer so will likely be doing better than her soon

It's just more the same divide between blue and white collar. Blue collar is seen as dirty and lower class, while white collar is seen as clean and higher class. Money always comes first, but when blue collar is considered prestige plays a large part.

OK, what feminists are doing is enforcing social class; average vocational training might actually pay better than an average 4-year college degree, but a bankrupt lawyer still has more social status than a millionaire machine shop owner.

This is why modern feminism is a right-wing movement.

Now, there used to be a legitimate argument in favor of the college degree, because up until recently, they required a broader education involving History, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy, etc, but Universities have become theme parks for overgrown children and no longer require anything but money.

Not where I live. One of the wealthiest men I know is a plumber..a friend from hs runs his own construction company and puts an avg of 500k/a in his pocket. Where do you live that people don't know the truth about trades?

I went to university and I'm actively encouraging my sons to learn trades so they can become financially free, instead of being wage slaves like the overwhelming majority of the college educated.....

Most Women see it as inferior. They think their shit doesn’t stink when they get letters behind their name. Vocational school and tech school grads often make more money than phd’s it all depends on the trade or degree. If a woman acts like that, I wouldn’t want to be around her. That type of thinking repulses me.
