Sorry if this doesn’t belong here, but I thought it fit.

I’ve done online dating in two three month periods. By now I’ve been rejected and ghosted more than I can count. But I’m not asking about the quick ones. Not based on initial attraction, charm, physique and looks, any of that.

How do you get over the girls where the first date or few dates go really well, and you’re really attracted to their personality, but they eventually reject you because you just aren’t what they’re looking for? It’s silly to say, I know, but I’ve been hurting a lot from recent rejections. The right one will come along, etc., but I have to put myself out there in the meantime. The more I do, the more I feel like who I am as a person isn’t desirable. I’m already in therapy, I’ve already done a lot of self help, I’ve spent a long time learning to love myself, my interests, and my hobbies. How do I get over feeling like who I am as a person isn’t desirable? Is the answer trying to make a bunch of platonic friends to negate that feeling? How do I make my self-worth purely internal, without being weighed down by the constant rejection from trying to date and hook up? I’m going to start reading Self-Compassion by Kristin Neff soon, but all other advice is more than welcome.
