Generally, she's not interested in you directly, she just wants to prove to herself she is still attractive. As soon as you start showing proper interest, that proves it for her and she looses interest.

I know a couple of guys how have played that sort to a one night stand, but not much more. Personally I find they are way too much effort, just use them as DHV, it's what they are doing with you themselves anyhow.

The solution: Dont give into her. Don't sit close to her, tell her that she has no chance in hell with you and walk away. Laugh at her attempts.

Proclaim loudly, "I am flattered you are hitting on me, but I'm sorry I'm not interested."

She'll chase you and jump on you, and you tell her to quit wrinkling your new shirt. Go find other girls, meanwhile this girl will continue to plot and will probably try to sleep with you that night. Use her for social proof, act disinterested in her. Be a "jerk".

This is a girl who wants to play the game with you, but youre making it far too easy for her.

She's one of these girls that like having a posse of orbiters and white knights surrounding her. This helps to inflate her ego while maintaining a stable of male slaves to do her bidding without having to put out. Sending mixed signals is usually a sign of disinterest. If she was truly interested in you she wouldn't be backing off.

These girls are feeding off of the attention you give them. Stop giving her attention when she wants it (become scarce) and you'll suddenly be higher-valued.

What do I mean by that? Don't always go out when she invites you. Don't return attention when she gives it to you. For example if she sits on your lap, playfully push her off with a "get off me, punk". Be scarce. You don't have time to play these games.

my university is INFESTED with these women!! its a real problem. but it can be used to your advantage in that if you deny them the attention they crave, they will feel compelled to go to greater lengths to get it. there is also a chance this strategy can back fire, but if it does you probably had no chance to begin with.

I've always been told that girls are legit if you can get them to qualify really hard to you. This might be something you can try.

These girls are called cockteases. I find myself having a hard time being very attracted to them, because they're mostly manipulative bitches and not worthy of my respect.

If she isn't complying consistently to everything you want, you back off and become hard to get. If she does the wishy-washy thing a lot, you go full asshole and start actively pushing her away, both physically and verbally. She should never be allowed to hold the frame that she can lean on you and touch you and take pictures with you at her whim. That's all your decision. You're the prize, and she's trying to figure out how to catch you. When she's able to use you for her ego-stroking, she's putting you below her and building herself a pedestal on your back.

If it was really bad, I'd probably do something like, "Here, hold this. Don't move." Hand her my beer or something, and walk away. Start a conversation with other girls somewhere in the bar, and chat with them for ~10 minutes. Then return. Bam! Compliance just got turned the right way around, and you're no longer her bitch. She's your bitch. Beautiful women experience shock and awe when something like this happens, and that's generally a good thing. I'm not saying she'll sleep with if you do this, but it does get things back into the right frame, and insures other women don't see you as the dancing monkey of this girl...they see that you made her into your dancing monkey and are thus worthy of and accustomed to dealing with bitchy hot girls, and you are not intimidated by them.

If she's flirting, especially by making body contact, match it. If she's been putting her arms around you, you've got every reason to think that you should respond in kind and try to escalate a little. If she doesn't go along with it, she's playing games: either she's not interested and just wants validation or she is but she wants to play with you. Either way, move along.
