I've spent some time now trying to improve my skills at opening, and I'd say that I've made some progress. I think it's fair to say that I can open now, consistently.

Thing is, I seem to have run up against a new challenge. My inner game sucks. I guess it's low self-esteem or my poor track record, but I find it hard even to visualize myself knowing how to behave and what to say beyond opening-stage interactions with girls.

For a long time my reaction to observing a girl with a guy was, quite frankly, angry jealousy. ("It's not fair, why him and not me..." blah blah whiny bullshit.) I've put that reaction away.

But I feel like I need to re-learn to imagine myself being comfortable in those situations, before I can actually be comfortable in those situations.

Anyone else experienced something like this? How did you get over it?
