I've been reading various PUA sites and forums for a little over a year now, and I find the material interesting. However, a common thread I've seen running through the communities is one of age (or experience). Most of the men are in their early 20s, some are even younger. I see a lot of these tactics being applied to girls; not what I'd consider women, but flighty girls with little experience in the world and a head full of ridiculous ideas propagated by popular media. I'm curious what kind of success people have found working these methods on older women. I'm 32, and really don't see myself being involved with an 18 yr old in any manner other than perhaps if she were a waitress at a restaurant I were patronizing.

I've always thought it was unethical to game people into behaviors I wanted. I don't know where I got this mentality from, but it seems to me that the techniques PUA use are not really different from the techniques a used car salesman uses to push a vehicle off the lot. Of course, my bias against gaming others is one reason why I'm an engineer and not a salesman.

Don't feel I'm attacking you, I'm just curious. Lately I find myself performing a type of recliner quarterbacking with PUA techniques. I watch how things are going with interactions of others and see if I can spot the patterns mentioned in many of these PUA communities. I've been thinking about starting to integrate some of the techniques myself as a sort of personality titration.

As for myself, my success rate has been abysmal, with 3 intimate relationships ever, none of which lasted longer than 3 months, and several years between them. So, yeah, my current techniques are obviously awesome.
