How do you feel about the state of seddit? [Discussion thread]

I think the problem is a huge influx of people who have discovered seddit but just don't "get it".

I feel like every FR that is like "what did I do wrong" can be answered with read the fucking sidebar. People want to nit pick and take what they want from seduction material and don't understand it's a about the bigger picture. Kinda the problem our society in general if you ask me. Everyone wants a quick fix to pick up chicks and the subreddit has suffered as a consequence. Not enough people take inner game seriously and expect shit to go their way.

We're experiencing an eternal september. The amount of people new to seduction has rocket up, so the quality has decreased.

Plenty of white knights everywhere and bad advice being given at many a turn.

And most annoyingly is the stuff that gets 200+ upvotes is usually the FEEL GOOD AND BE CONFIDENT crap. Actual discussion of pickup mechanics is now at an all time minimum.

I agree with your post.

One of the issues I've had is just who is giving advice; not just in my threads, but anyone's threads. Unless you already know, how do you separate bad advice from good advice? I know the user flair issue has come up for debate several times, but I still feel like having some system by which users can positively ID sedditors with consistent good advice would be helpful.

Can we all just start responding to bad posts with "Read the sidebar" and downvotes?

I've only been on Seddit for a few weeks, but I also have been noticing that there's very little seduction discussion compared to other forums. Way too many absolute new people coming in and going "What do I doooo? I tried saying 'oh my god you're so hot' and she didn't like me."

Also, if anyone sees me giving bad advice, correct me, let me know, PM me. I don't wanna be one of the keyboard jockeys dishing out bad advice. I've been a bit of a keyboard jockey for the past week or two.

But.. I gotta go. Day2 to attend to.

Honestly? I feel like seddit is turning into 99% college frat-bro game. Which is fine, I guess, reddit's a democracy and that's the when most guys and girls are running around trying to hook up with each other.

Still, as a 30+ guy, I find fewer and fewer reasons to come back to this subreddit.

Honestly, I kinda feel like everything that needs to be said on the subject of attracting and seducing women has already been said on Seddit. The front page is what's getting discussed right now. No one has posted anything mind-blowing lately. But there are a lot of guys who come her knowing absolutely nothing and having the wrong frame of mind. They ask questions so that's what gets discussed.

Discovering Seddit eight months ago facilitated my greatest period of self-improvement in years. I doubt the same would happen if I found the site now. It's incredible that so much can change in so little time.

If we want to preserve the community we knew and loved, we need to restructure this subreddit. Either we create a new one focused on theory and techniques, with invite-only members, or we enforce much stricter rules on this one. Maybe mods should make one definitive thread on each topic (a similar structure to online forums), and remove any redundant threads that are started. That way we wouldn't get "how do I make girls laugh?" or "what's a good place to meet women" week after week after week. Edit: I know that's what the side bar is for, but clearly nobody is paying attention. An alternative would be to remove any posts easily concluded by reading the sidebar. Draconian, but necessary.

This needed to be said. I've wandered from this subreddit because I've found myself giving the only decent advice in some threads, and I'm nothing but a novice who's read a bunch of books and forums.

I'm a noob, and I've made it a policy not to give any advice until I have a good amount of experience. Reading FRs has been a huge help, both to see what's possible and see I'm not the only chump who finds this hard. The links to stuff like RSD have genuinely changed my life for the better.

My problem with this sub recently is that it is focusing more on self-improvement than seduction. There is a lot of feel-good bullshit posts. This stuff may work for people that do need to improve their life, but what about those that are successful, in shape, and confident but still do not get with as many women as they want. r/pickup was a terrible subreddit, which is why it got banned. This subreddit needs to fill the void that that reddit was and provide some seduction tatics that work without the other crap.

I'm late to this thread, and generally just a lurker.

The #1 problem I see is, with any PUA forum, keyboard jockeying. I know this from personal experience, having done it myself.

It's one thing to write FR's and think out loud, it's quite another to give advice when you just don't have enough experience (read: lays) to really give it.

At least in other forums, like RSD, you know who the experienced guys are and you can tune out everyone else. Here? I don't know if there's a system.

I think you should have a minimum # of lays to be giving the lion's share of advice. Like a 20/80 power rule (the top 20% should be giving 80% of the advice). I don't know how people feel about this, but explicitly stating your lay count (and it can be a range, like 25-30) right off the bat would help. I know this opens up a small can of worms regarding what the point of seddit is yadda yadda yadda, but look, guys who get consistent lays are going to have the best advice for you, period.

Also, most FR's suck. I don't want to read them, and I have a feeling other people don't want to read them.

I agree sidebar or gtfo, but lets not forget that some people here who are trying to IMPROVE themselves and their game. Not every post is going to be from the pov of a pro.

Agree with Eternal September. Im not a master pua, nor i want to become one because what i seek is self improvement, but posts like "How do i meet girls" or "What do i talk about with girls" are terrible. What is wrong with these guys? If you dont even know how to talk with a girl, go to /r/askseddit, not here.

However, i think we should focus more on self improvement and inner game, rather than raw mechanics and related.

Apparently no one wants to become a gentleman. Ill stick with my ideas.
