Hey guys,

Had a dinner last night with a girl I met at a concert. Went well.

There was a moment where things didn't feel right. Well moments. The thing is, I love my life. My job pays well and is highly engaging, my academics are going very well with a lot of direction, I'm happy all the time, I love where I live, I can afford nice things, I'm making great progress on a personal/professional project/lifegoal.

Things are awesome. And when she asked me questions relevant to those things I was afraid to let that out. I was afraid to sound pompous, or self-absorbed, or smug, or sound like I was trying to prove something. So I mitigated my words when I talked about these things, hid details, felt uncomfortable and lost my flow.

So, how do I talk about myself and how much I love my life without sounding... like a douche?

Edit: You guys are awesome, thanks for the insight and advice!
