Throwaway for no good reason.

Anyway, to start let me say I have pretty bad AA, but also really bad social anxiety and I've never been socially successful. Since I started browsing seddit, I've gotten way better and happier because of it, but still not too much success with girls. My default mode is nice awkward guy.

Today in class I was talking with my friend about a cute girl in our class (the ONLY cute girl in the class), a HB7.5. I told him I'd go for it after class, and normally I'd pussy out but I didn't want to in front of him, so I went for it.

Me: Hi, I'm Sedthrowaway14141 Her: Hi, I'm Z Me: What'd you think of the test? Her: Eh, it wasn't too bad Me (with a big grin): Cool. Just so you know I'm not hitting on you, Her: Haha, ok Me: Not that I wouldn't, I mean you're very attractive, but I'm not Her (blushing): Haha Me: Alright, 25% chance, but 75% chance I'm not

Etc until she asked if I was done with classes, and she said she was.

Me: Alright, I'm hitting you. Do you want to go get some lunch? Her: I'm meeting some friends at X Me (with a shit-eating grin): Cool, think they'll like me? Her: Haha, yeah

Random small talk, just getting to know her - where she's from, what she likes to do. I make my intentions clear - she says she isn't into relationships, I say "Me neither, but that doesn't mean I don't like fun." I also directly ask her if she has a bf, and when she says no I say "Cool, you have great eyes." (which she did) We keep talking/joking/flirting for a few min, when her friends show up - her roommate and their guy friend (I was worried he might AMOG me, but he didn't seem to be into Z). They talk for a second, we get up to get food and she introduces me. I smile, shake their hands with strong eye contact, ask them about themselves, and we go get food. I start to kino (a bit late, I know, but I'm really new to all of this), touching her on the arm when I tease her. She laughs. I get a salad and a fruit cup, and take time eating - I was the last done, but only by about 45 seconds. Her friends do most of the talking but the whole time I'm giving her tons of attention with my body language - heavy eye contact, facing her, when I talk I to the group I direct it almost completely to her.

We finish eating, I hear her friends say something about how they all had to go somewhere or they'd be late. I thought, "Damn, didn't get a chance to isolate. Oh well, I want to end on a good note."

She made it clear they were splitting up from me (she said "Bye... see you on Monday" with a really big smile).

I slowly got up, put my sweater on, picked up my bag, walked past them to the trashcan (which was right in between them and the door), turned around and said "Ok, bye. But first..." I opened my arms "I'm a hugger!" She smiled again, big hug, I left.

I know it's nothing huge, but for me it's a really significant milestone - I went from not being able to approach someone at all to letting her know that I wanted a FWB setup, and she seemed happy with it. I think if I'd isolated I would have had the confidence to kclose her. On Monday I plan on #closing & kclosing after class.

I also have a date tomorrow morning with an HB8 (who I think has a great personality).

I hope this is helpful, and thanks seddit! I don't know what most people think of this subreddit, but as someone who has spent years trying to figure out how social interactions work, seddit is exactly what I've been looking for.

EDIT: It has been determined by the board that the hug part was cringe-worthy. If I am going to hug a girl, should I say anything at all, or just do it? (If I should say something, any suggestions?)

EDIT2: Just read through the new comments and it came up more than once, so I'll clarify: the whole "I'm not hitting on you" thing in a cocky/flirty way.
