"Depends"= she wants to go out with you and/or you to come out with her. Depends on if you ask or not.

Whether or not this is true (it will be like 80% of the time), if you approach it like it is, your confident response will make it true.

Its not a shit test. If it infuriates you, then I encourage you to step back and evaluate your own mindset and brush up on common female traits like not wanting to make decisions, because that is your job as a guy.

If you had planned ahead, you could circumvent putting yourself in that whole situation to begin with:

you: "My friends and I are going to [insert place and marketing here] on friday, come out with us." her: ok!

versus: you: "hi" her: "hi =)" you: "What are you up to tonight?" // sounding too much like your feeling her out instead of just taking initiative. her: "depends haha"

I think guys are reading this situation incorrectly. She isn't giving you the greenlight to invite her out, she's basically saying "I'll do what you're doing IF it sounds cool/fun/exciting"

When someone comes out with you, they do it for two reasons: they want to see you and/or they want to participate in what you are doing.

That's why it's always super helpful to have something exciting to invite people to. If I go out on a Monday, I generally know something really fun happening on a later day that week, and if I meet a girl I like I can invite her to that specific thing while we're still talking face-to-face

Edit: movie plans should never be your goto. Go to a bar. If you're not old enough, grab a coffee or hit up a park. Do something memorable or a chance where you actually get to know each other and get intimate. Movies are just grope fests while staring at a screen.
