For the record, stop putting spaces before your periods and commas. One space after, no spaces before.

Also, you have an issue women tend to have. If they're in a group and a bunch of people are flirting with them, they are interested in those that don't flirt with them. You want what you can't have. Two options: get over it, you're not compatible with everyone you meet, or learn to improve yourself so you attract women that aren't going to blow you on the first date if you're looking for a LTR.

Im going to assume the hot girls you speak of are the type that act and dress in a way that suggests they enjoy attention (not that there is anything wrong with this) and are generally flirtier than the type you are going for? Id suggest if it is the more reserved type you are hoping to date that you try a much more subtle approach and take a genuine interest in the girl and just be yourself and be nice to her, you could be an expert at playing the game but not all girls want a player :)

It might seem slight, but if you're engaging the girls you're attracted to via text, spelling and grammar are important; depending on your market. (YMMV)

In general girls who aren't attractive in a conventional sense are not used to getting the attention of attractive men, so they basically don't know how to initiate contact, kino etc. It seems like you are the passive party in the interaction, i.e. you expect the women to make the moves and flirt and shit. You need to learn to be a little more persuasive and not take rejection too personally.

I had a friend go through this but he was a super good looking in shape and smart dude. Girls swoon for him but not the ones he wanted a relationship with. Total alpha personality and a narcissistic asshole. My theory is the girls he was attracted to already had their fair share of douchebags and now wanted a nice guy. If you're a cocky dude consider checking your ego because that's a red flag for a girl whose been with an asshole before. Now I'm not saying your like him since I don't know you but maybe you can draw some parallels

"a very high-energy, outspoken person and it would just feel really weird for me to try to control it" Although that is you, a woman/girl who is smart wont go for showmanship so to speak, from the side would it seem that you are egoistic, high energy from the side could appear that you arent into calm conversations. Something to consider.

Following on from that would it be that you are now starting to find yourself attracted to the other type of girls since you have been having the one that match you energy and outspoken nature? The calm, appearing shy, or disinterested type, a type of girl who wants a dinner and movie instead of club night? The type who would rather read a book than go hiking, or better example the one who would rather go for a coffee than a bar. Just somethings to think about.

Maybe the girls you are into aren't superficial, so they're also looking for something real like you're genuine feelings and emotions. So until you're real/open with them they don't want anything to do with you. So like a real relationship.

It's called projection. It's easier to attract women you aren't very invested in. This I were the whole 'girls like assholes' perception comes from.
