If men organized and demanded changes, they might get them. Feminist are no beating their drums for no reason. Politicians need votes, if enough men supported changed, they would need to take them into account. It is easy to ignore someone who keeps silent.

I fully support you trying this. It should be a tax deduction, but I know that the entire TITLE IV D System, the Judges, the BAR, womens groups would fight this so hard. AND you have to think they would count this as income and come after you to get the deduction back from you.

I have been working and reading about how to organize a non profit for sometime. It is going to take sometime to get it off the grounds but i think someone will do in the coming years.

Yes!! And, she gets the $2k, after it’s been taxed. So you’ve essentially have had to earn $2300 to get her that $2000. (Depending on your tax bracket). And she doesn’t have to claim it as income either. It’s free money for her. Men get double and triple screwed on these matters!

Create a petition and share it locally and online, to get votes (change.org might be a good place to start).

Sounds like you might be from the U.S.; not sure what catches their eyes most; but in India, Twitter is pretty popular, both for cops and politicians/political movements, to get things expedited and eye balls on it.

Every little bit of change in favour of men to make the laws fairer makes a difference. What you might start in one town may impact a city which might impact other states and then the country. And which could then help and impact other countries.

Yes, it would be worth your time.

But, if I remember correctly, Trump's last tax reform thing made this NOT a write-off on your taxes. He reversed this. As a result, from what I've heard, judges have been awarding less money to the wives and many womens groups were unhappy with this change.

Agree this is rubbish. Ideally child support & alimony are tax deductible for the payer, and taxable income for the recipient.

In UK, child support is a % of gross income. If you're in a high tax bracket and paying support for 3 kids, you pay 45 + 8 = 53% in tax plus 19% child support for marginal tax rate of 72%

I suspect if someone was paying support for multiple kids and multiple mothers you could contrive a situation where the total bill was over 100% of income!

If we do this, we should also exempt all child expenses from taxes, just like we do food.

Children’s clothes, toys, extra bedrooms used for children on rent/mortgage, a portion of the utilities, maybe some kind of mileage log for gas $, lunchboxes, shoes, children’s hair cuts, entertainment like children’s tickets at movies, circus, trampoline parks, even concession stands, sports gear the list could go on.

No one should have to pay taxes on the money they spend on their kids.

Are you serious? They tax property, what makes you think they won't tax your income no matter what it goes to? I sympathize with your plight, totally, but I never heard of any politician agreeing to give up tax revenues.

We all want equality. So why not forward that notion and ask for a vote on 50/50 rights to be standard in divorces and whatnot? (I'm not American and idk how y'all's law passing system works)

It's totally worth it. As some places do have a space for child support payments on the forms. We do here where I live. Alimony isn't on it, though. But child support is.
