If it came out tomorrow that TikTok was actually a massive, federally funded social experiment to see how many people would use it to post the most inane and ridiculous shit...I wouldn't be surprised at all.

As a fun experiment, I put my original info and my boyfriend's original info into the Male Reality Calculator and Female Reality Calculator.

According to the data, I had a 3.8% chance of finding him, and he had a 0.87% chance of finding me.

On tiktok you get rewarded for interactions. They way to get the most interaction is to post something that pisses off a group of people and cracks up another group of people. This is literally what rage bait is. You are being manipulated for clicks and comments. Delete the aps and interact with people in real life it will save you from being pissed all the time.

I put my own BF's stats in one of the female delusion calculators and got "cat lady in the making." I put my own dad in and got some even crazier small probability and being all but assured men like him barely exist.

Here's the thing. U.S. census data is useless for determining your chances of meeting a men who fits a particular set of criteria in your individual context. We recently found out that you have to make at least six figures to afford a house in our area. And no, not a large or comfortable house. A house. That means the kinds of men you run into here are disproportionately wealthy and successful, or comes from that sort of background. You can't walk more than ten steps without running into a man who is allegedly so rare and unattainable according to that calculator.

Responding to the title here because I think it's on to something.

Women place a lot of value on abstract markers of social status, and if you make it a marker of social status to be difficult, hostile, entitled and narcissistic in how they deal with men, then you've got a self-reinforcing cycle of behavior. Everything they do makes it easier to keep doing and harder to stop.

And women who fall into traps like these, likely are not self-aware enough to get themselves out or avoid going in. Anyone with a conscience and common sense would understand how self-defeating living like this would be.

But for those who don't, they have no inclination to change for the benefit of people they don't value or respect. And worse, they have a very large inclination to spread their attitudes to others.

Social contagion isn't just restricted to dating and romance, but I do think it's especially upsetting for personal reasons.

I don't even think it's so much that they inflate their value as people (I don't believe in SMV or any of that, philosophically it's disgusting to me) but rather that their concept of personal value runs opposite to how men view them.

That's why "pick-me's" are distrusted and ridiculed. Women who respond to male attention positively, who value their input or perspectives, they're undermining the social environment that enables and cultivates the attitudes and behavior of the women who don't give a damn about men as people.

It's deeply anti-social.

They're living in a hyperreality where the validation they receive for being alone is more valuable and comforting than the possibility of connection outside of that ficticious space where men are worthless.

Cult shit.

Which website shows you “percentage of men/women in the U.S. that fit your criteria”? Those that are posted in this sub prior (delusions calculators) are awful as they don’t take into account correlation between metrics. For example, taller men are more likely to have higher income.

It costs nothing to be delusional online. There’s no reason to take it seriously. Either these women are voluntarily taking themselves out of the dating game, in which case they are irrelevant. Or they are dating and follow the standard dynamics, regardless of whatever they post online.

Idk my bf and I both took those and were really normal with our answered and we both got less than half a percent. I wouldn’t take those post very seriously because you can’t even filter correctly. For example if you choose eye color you can only pick one, or all. You can only choose one religion or neither. It’s not very well made.
