Usually, whenever the discussion over who has it worse is brought up, women tend to point out that the majority of sexual assault victims are women. In response to that, men comprise the majority of the victims in homicides, physical assaults, etc. Usually, the counterpoint that those women put forward is that men are to blame for the crimes committed as they are the perpetrators. Has anyone wondered why?

From my previous post, it was shown that comparing both sexes, society puts more problems on men than women. Higher expectations and higher standards lead men to push themselves more to the limit but what happens if they don't meet them, are they accepted? No, they are told to try harder to get the bare amount of affection. If they still don't succeed, what then? They either commit suicide or turn to crime. In European countries with low crime rates, there is usually a support system to help out the unemployed. If that is removed, you would see an increase in crime rates.

Certainly one explanation as to why individuals are not highly motivated to commit a criminal act shortly after they are unemployed is the safety nets that our society has installed to aid people through difficult times. If these safety nets were to be removed, it is plausible that individuals would be more motivated to resort to criminal activity as a means of maintaining a steady income.

There is less pressure on women to earn as breadwinners than on men. SAHM is more common than SAHD. It is supported by other models (positive correlation with poverty).

Now, some might defend by blaming patriarchy or that men made the society which is also not true as both genders worked to their strengths in the past and both built the society together. If it was made and controlled by only men, men would only have the best positions in the society and not the worst positions as well. Before blaming the patriarchy, ask yourselves the question, how many women are actually willing to accept a SAHD or a guy earning much less than then provided they can take care of the household chores more than the woman. (Source 1, Source 2, Source 3) These are also the reasons of why men tend to put in more hours at work and thus earn higher, they have the push that if they don't they will not be loved, women don't have that motivation as they usually earn to break gender roles to be independent or for the enjoyment only. They need to have a bare minimum of capital to sustain themselves whereas men need to have more than the bare minimum.

The so called hypergamous nature is the one to blame too. If women were in the same position, that unless and until they had a certain amount of capital in their bank account, certain top percentage in looks and certain top percentage in social status, they would not be desired, loved, no support financially (no free drinks, free food on dates, sugar daddies, etc out of the picture) or even worthy to get married, wouldn't they resort to crime too?

TL; DR: I am not advocating for the actual crime but usually behind every action there is a motivation whether good or bad. The crime would have a motivation for earning money, supporting themselves everyday, to be afford to be loved, etc. There is an African proverb which says "A child not loved by the village will burn it to feel it's warmth". This holds true for most of the men reverting to the life of crime as women are loved by the society simply for existence, men are not which they have to earn so saying the next time you say men are the only ones to blame for majority of the crimes, remember that if behind every successful man, there is a woman, the same can be said for most of the criminals as society consists of both men and women.
