MRA under scrutiny by the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism

You might have heard how the UK has vowed to stamp out "extreme misogyny" by bringing it under the umbrella of terrorism.

Implications of terrorism:

  1.    **Detention Without Charge:** Individuals can be detained for up to 14 days without charge.   2.    **Privacy:** Increased surveillance, including intercepting communications and searching personal property, often without a warrant. 3.  **Freedom of Movement:** Restrictions such as curfews or geographic limits may be imposed. 4.  **Fair Trial:** Secret evidence may be used in court, limiting the defense’s ability to challenge it. 5.  **Freedom of Expression:** Speech that supports or encourages terrorism can be criminalized. 6.  **Financial Restrictions:**Assets may be frozen without full legal proceedings
