When feminism was campaigning to try to get women in the US the right to vote, the majority of women objected. One of the major reasons why was that they thought they'd then have to register for the draft too. I forget the details, but somehow the feminist movement was able to convince people to not connect the two and that women could vote without registering.

So they did end the [prospect] of the draft -- for women.

Don't remember where I heard, but in US draft became unpopular within officer core because of fraging(when enlisted kill their own officers, often using grenades). So to avoid such things and ensure that orders would be followed there was a switch towards more professional military in US.

Not only it didn’t end but there’s a law on the books which apply to men only called the “bucket brigade”- which most people don’t know about. The law allows firemen to draft any man they encounter to help quell a fire in an emergency. The law only allows them to draft men. Women are exempt. This is yet another law that discriminates against men. Of course the military draft is another. There are many more.

Technically speaking, you cant prove feminists helped to end conscription because you're "trying to prove a negative" (o a search on this phrase if you need an explanation). The other person has made a claim, they need proof to support that claim. If they cant supply the proof, then their claim is invalid.

No, this is silly. Feminists certainly didn’t support Nixon and he was the one that fought with Congress to end the draft. You could possibly say that the economist Milton Friedman helped end the draft as he persuaded Nixon. If anything Nixon did it to undermine the anti war movement and certainly the Democrats that the feminists favored did nothing to help even though they had control of Congress. Also remember that it was another feminist favorite, Jimmy Carter, that reinstated the selective service act by presidential order in 1980 (and Bill Clinton that made the most recent update of the act). So that’s 100% feminist supported Democrats perpetuating the draft. Maybe they count as “helping” trying to nominate a disastrous candidate like Eugene McCarthy, rioting when he lost, and thus ensuring that Nixon would win the general election easily.

Draft effectively ended due to Vietnam war, when you literally had MILLIONS passively avoiding or stalling draft through various means and hundreds of thousands actively avoiding it and being very vocal. Dozens of thousands got arrested, beaten, hundreds were KILLED due to arrests in protests or were beaten to death while imprisoned because they avoided jail. Thousands received 5 or more years in prison. Feminists did nothing about it. No support at all. One also needs to differ support from sympathizing. When you sympathize with someone's idea or issue, you can still do nothing concrete about it to end it, even if you can. In fact, you can do the exact opposite. Support means doing real actions that have effect. Feminists didn't do it.

If you check history of feminism, you'll find it always being aligned and having mutual support with the ruling elite. This is why feminism and womanist movements regularly sided with feudalist lords in 18th century, it didn't tackle universal education in late 18th and early 19th century, it didn't tackle slavery in any real means and its contemporary mainstream thought supported scientific racism during the whole 19th century, it played main role in prohibitionist era of conservativism in early 20th century, along with one of the most prominent roles in KKK's lynching, with feminists regularly supporting lynching over mere accusations in a racially loaded era. Feminism played pivotal role in both world wars for warmongering propaganda (in fact, the most common and recognizable feminist poster IS part of war propaganda posters), it sided with dismantling nuclear family and liberalism in 1960s and onwards.

In conclusion, feminism's mainstream thought has always supported the elites and elites supported feminism. Military draft during Vietnam war is no different. You can also notice how marxist and socialist feminism, once very strong an dominant thought, practically doesn't exist today, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, despite the fact that it literally had large volumes of books in 20th century during existence of Soviet Union. Despite what you might hear today, the most dominant though in feminist thought by far IS liberal feminism, everything else is practically marginal. In order to make you think that feminism had always supported the contemporary political ideas and thoughts, many feminist scholars will literally dig through the books, ignore vast majority or teachings and mainstream thought itself and find that one (or few) dissidents of its era who i.e. weren't traditionalist/conservative political leaning in prohibitionist era, or the few feminists who weren't pro-slavery era in early 19th century, even though their thoughts were just thoughts and any "actions" to support their thoughts were symbolic at best, if at all.

That should give you a clear answer - feminism as a movement would never end the draft or make any moves in that direction because it always acted as an extended arm of the system itself. Draft effectively ended because it became much larger of a hassle and counterproductive in terms of war efforts to recruit people who opposed and actively avoided being recruited, up to a point of causing major social unrests.
