Vaselgel (RISUG) is the product I've been waiting on for two decades. It would be awesome to have this sub rally around the option that is "nearly complete"

I just want access to it, I'll be the test subject idc at this point lol. It's ready for human trials I believe, I'll link the latest article I can find on it.

Oh, there are some more options in research and studies:

There is the "thermal male contraception", using andro-switch / slip-chauffant which i use since one and a half year now. First device will receive license in 2027. Pearl-Index 0.5 from studies since the 80s. (Available to buy/diy already)

Other Thermal projects are up, too. "cocooner" does crowdfunding at the moment to step to studies.
Spermapause, also available to buy

There are Vas-occlosure gel projects (PlanA, Adam, Vasalgel, Risug) later one does have license in India, first one claims to receive license in 2026, now 2027 is communicated.

YCT-529, this would be a non-hormonal male pill, is in studies.

And, of coarse, hormonal is still in study. At the moment, some shoulder gel. (As far i i know, in France you can opt for off-label use in order to use for male BC.)

the Bimek is a good idea, but (as all projects of male BC) is lacking fund. And it would be a little too invasive as i would choose.

There is access to birth control for men, but in very limited forms (pretty much condoms or sterilisation). The push should be for alternative / additional forms of birth control.

Either way, sexual health goes beyond pregnancy - it would be nice to have a “condoms + X” option, we just need to solve for X.

Abortion rights should always come alongside opt out rights for the father.

I mean one "right" is obviously less controversial and doesn't require a huge amount of thought into the ethics...

There are 4 circumstances when a couple get pregnant currently:

Her	Him	Child
Don't want	Don't want	aborted
Don't want	want	aborted
Want	Don't want	kept
Want	Want	kept

You might as well remove the "Him" column because it has zero impact on the outcome. There are however two outcomes that affect him personally from this choice. In one, his child is aborted, and in the other he is forced to be responsible for a child. These are both outcomes we argue are unfair for women. Why not men?

Meanwhile, "equality".

I broke up a long term relationship with a feminist gal after a conversation about "what happens If I get you pregnant". I thought I was being incredible responsible having this conversation but she straight up told me, "I don't know what I would do in that circumstance."

"Fair enough," I said. "...but when the outcome affects me I want some reassurance about the choices."

In the end she really couldn't see why this bothered me and believed it was her right to choose whatever she wanted for me.

It's truly amazing that women who argue against men's rights in this front will legitimately say that we lose our right to choice when we have sex. I cannot believe this is anything other than spiteful hatred towards men today for the arguments of the past generations - when they are straight up reversing the arguments as to why women should have abortions to explain away men's right to opt out.

There are legal precautions that you have to take. I am not kidding. There are digital contracts you can have on your phone for women to sign or you take a short video where she clearly states that she is on birth control and this video is unsolicited. They wanted it this way….

Men have access to birth control. It may not come in pill form but it works perfectly well. If you choose not to use it that's your mistake

As a pro-life person, I take a similar position just with the opposite conclusion on abortion. I’m actually fine with the laws surrounding men in these situations, I just feel that women must also face the consequences of their actions.

Male birth control has worse problems atm than female bc.

Not only does it cause weight gain, lower sex drive, and cause aches and pains.

It can also be so severe as to cause or increase suicidal thought, moreso than other medications on the market.

Abstinence is, and always has been the only assured bc.

Condoms a close second. If you're going so far as to go bare, you're better off going with the cheaper option of lambskin condoms.

It's funny because I read a survey once where over 90% of male respondents said they wouldn't take male birth control if it were an option. Personally I'd love to see male birth control options but it's clear the market doesn't want them. I can't even think of one that's made it past clinical trials.

Dude. Women have been struggling for ages to get their methods of birth control. We didn't do jack shit and heavily relied on the women doing all the heavy lifting. Still today, women are the ones enduring most of the contraception role, with a majority of guys either not giving a shit/not being educated about it/think it's her role since she's a woman/think you're a cuck/soyboy/... if you contracept yourself ...

Come on. It's not like we particularly tried as a social group to get involved in that kind of activism, while feminist women were campaigning for that in the 1920's.

Let's face it : we're so much behind when it comes to invest in our sexual/mental health compared to women, which means that we were mostly left behind when women's mentalities evolved, which is why there is such a divide between men and women today. Where is the sexual revolution for men ? We're stuck in the past and our main strategy is whine that women have it better, which is not true in a lot of areas, and even when it is, whining your way towards the victim olympics doesn't make you evolve, we all know that.

And don't tell me it's a technological problem : thermal method, RISUG/Vasalgel/Plan A and other extremely promising with overwhelmingly good results have been studies for decades, but all the funding goes to hormonal methods, pills/gels that you need to take daily and have frequent refills of. If the pharmaceutical industry is ever gonna invest in a field where they feel that a lot of preliminary work needs to be done before commercialization, in a potentially very flimsy market (will enough men take it ? won't the vast majority continue to rely on their women's bc ? will it hurt our female bc sales ?) in an field where clinical studies will push for the lowest amounts of side effects, not because men are wimps, but because the risk/reward ratio is extremely low for men : women can get pregnant and die because of it, so it's "ok" that they get bad side effects, however being pregnant for a man doesn't change anything, so ethical committes will expect only extremely low or no side effects.

All these problems that I cited have been there for decades, as a matter of fact they've been there since the first hormonale male pill trials in the 50's, so exactly at the same time the female pill happened. Unless we act, there's no reason to believe there will be change on this matter in the next 70 years.

They have every right not to tell us if they're taking birth control so we have to wake up. We just can't trust someone else to have power over our lives. And we can't not implicate ourselves in this area and then expect the world to go the way we want it to be. While there are true cases of baby trapping, most cases are a guy whining that she didn't do as he planned while he did NOTHING to handle the contraception on his side ... At some point, take at least part of the responsability on yourself, you're not a baby without agency and you weren't forced to have sex all these times (of course, it doesn't apply to guys being raped/sexually coerced by women, like removing the condom midsex or lying about contraception when it was clearly discussed and agreed upon before for example, that would be a breach of trust and consent).
