People love saying it doesn't exist one moment yet proclaiming they're "proud misandrists" and "It's totally justified". It seems like they're better at making excuses and abandoning integrity than they are at defending their awful views.

I noticed this too. They aren’t even called men anymore - not even “moids” as in the male version of “foids” - but “XYs.” They have gone out of their way to entirely remove masculinity out of the equation and directly attack people for their genetics. And I say “people” because I don’t think AMAB trans women, XY cis women, XY enbies, and other Y chromosome owners are too fond of this silly behavior.

I think this started when certain elements of tiktok discovered Valerie Solanas’ hate manifesto and started believing that the Y chromosome is deficient, and that the Y chromosome vanishing in a few million years would mean the demise of maleness (the latter assertion isn’t even in the book, but headlines of this sort have been passed around on tiktok). Both of these assertions are frankly pseudoscientific - the Y chromosome is indeed vanishing due to its inability to recombine but that doesn’t necessarily mean the genes on the Y are less-than nor does it necessarily mean that maleness is vanishing. The haplotypes of all species on earth are constantly shifting due to random mutations and natural pressures. Most mammals have two sexes and two distinct reproductive organs and some male mammals have alternate sex chromosomes. So it could be that human males are getting a new system of sex determination which would give these people a new chromosome to hate. And it could be even more “superior” (by the eugenicists’ own standards) than the X due to selective pressures - who knows.

Also… it’s going to vanish in a few million years. I’d be more worried about cuts to social security than a bunch of amino acids swimming around in cyborg children’s cells.

They justify that misandry doesn't exist because they claim women have no power. That is, all power is centralized. Black and white thinking. And men create the world only for men. They also ignore all the programs created and paid for by men to support and help women and then claim they achieved everything by themselves. They also claim only women are physically harmed by gender bigotry (misogyny in this case). They deny or minimize men harmed. Even though looking at homicide broken down by gender and age, boys under 1 are the biggest group, killed mostly by their mothers. They'll also talk about verbal and emotional abuse, when referring to female victims. That it's the equivalent to physical harm. But for men, they've just had their feelings hurt. So it's not serious like physical harm. Then they've concocted and lot of ahistorical narratives. True, women needed a male signature for credit cards... for a few years between credit cards coming into existence (1968 in the UK) and discrimination being outlawed (1974 in the UK). This becomes wimen couldn't have bank accounts or credit cards for centuries. (The first record of a bank account with a woman's name was in the last 17th century) "Women couldn't own property" - single women had the same rights as men. Married women's property, from a tax perspective, was seen as her husband so he was responsible for any tax. If she sold the property he needed to sign off, to acknowledge his tax liability. She remained the beneficial owner. "Women were denied education" - many universities didn't allow women but for most of history the number of men allowed into university numbered in the hundreds. Not like now with nearly the majority of people going to university. Schooling was available for young boys and girls.'and rich women certainly got educated albeit at home... by those graduates from university that their families sponsored. (One example un the US - the first medical school wouldn't allow women, so a few women grouped together and opened their own medical school because they were rich enough to do so. I dare say many women were rich enough to open their own banks if they wanted to) So they've developed this alternative narrative to claim misandry doesn't exist. They've become repeated so often everyone believes them. At some point they're going to have to be debunked.

Sociopaths always look for avenues they can exploit where their sociopathy is conducted in a sort of blind spot. Men are already seen as disposable and the ones to sacrifice over women and children- plus we’re the ones expected to “just take it” in wars, dangerous/rough employment, etc- so going that extra step of just assuming men should suffer insults as well is an easy step for a sociopath to take. Feminists already claim there’s a “rape culture” where all men are to be seen as “potential rapists” first, human beings second (or third…). It’s routine enough that outright misandrists can indeed plop down a hate flag without repercussion. Girls bein’ girls.

It’s similar to the blind spot around abortion. That’s a fundamental right to one’s own body and self-determination, but it was sacrificed behind the deceptive rhetoric of “life”… and a pivot of feminism away from women’s rights toward rich women being CEOs and riding rockets into space. They’d built careers to pave equality but when it was largely achieved the sociopaths turned it to misandry instead. Now they prefer the big money of “consultancy” on how to more effectively portray men crappily in the entertainment industry- how to make them the butt of jokes and reviled villains. It’s straight up bigotry, but because it’s on the silver screen it must be legit, right? Ana Sarsleazian said bigotry is everywhere and has to be pointed out, but she conveniently never pointed out misandry.

I don't think you get cancelled, as someone who spends too much time on social media I think it's actually not moderated at all when it comes to gender issues, like you can call somone "foid" on TT an and nothing happens. Moid is also just derived from femoid which is incel slang, and I get that much of it is reactionary, but the thing is that they cry about incels being mean to them after they say something like "proud misandrist" or even acknowledge "female privilege" like graduating school at a higher rate, having a longer life expectancy, and being seen as more desireable, so practically calling men less worthy human beings, meanwhile still saying they are discriminated against?

I'm against misandry and honestly, I'm not offended by moid and xy. I'm a proud moid. In fact, it exists in response to incels calling women foids or femoids.

My issue with misandry is that it targets vulnerable men like disabled and working class men. Many posts love to dunk on the "male loneliness epidemic" and blame men for it, not understanding that it primarily affects neurodivergent men. Furthermore, the worst men, sexual predators and domestic abuse perpetrators, are usually socially successful and rarely virgins. There should be taking down on misandrist posts.

People can get falsely accused of misogyny and cancelled. That is the problem. James Damore was fired when what he wrote was not misogynistic in any way. It was simply acknowledging sex is real. Maybe JK Rowling should hire him as her top programmer but we know that won't happen. I've been punished as a teenager for a joke that many people, both men and women, think is funny. But it didn't stop them from cancelling me.

The short, cynical answer is that the average/most common online feminist is (mentally) a combination of angry teenage girl and conspiracy theorist that exists in an online environment that is tightly controlled to protect their emotional integrity against outsiders.

The longer, more serious answer is complex and relates to the radicalizing effects of social media, the embrace of power-dynamic thinking, the human desire to stand up to injustice and side with the underdog and the fact that, deep down inside, everyone can be a bit of a bastard sometimes.

Why would you expect misandric people to feel any differently? Of course they will try to rationalize or normalize their misandry by promoting this idea that it's harmless, because if they understood the harm that it causes they would probably stop being misandrists or, at the very least, start doing it more covertly so that they don't get judged by the rest of society. To anyone who is actually paying attention or has any real ounce of empathy for men, it is very clear that misandry is harmful and already far too normalized.

It's the algorithm. The algorithm shows you content you click on and engage with, whether that's something you're hate watching or something you like to see.

You're seeing a small population of extremely hateful people, and/or grifters that are ragebaiting. These are not especially common sentiments online, just very specific circles. Don't get me wrong, it's still a problem, it's just the very specific problem you've identified is not a problem on on the scale you seem to think it is.

As for enforcement of hatespeech rules.

Most online services have been downsizing moderation teams because Musk demonstrated that even though you lose sponsors when you do this, the decrease in labour expenses is generally worth it
Online services just aren't very good about enforce of these rules to begin with. It takes people actually reporting the problem, with more reports seeing more attention by mods, so it's only when you make a comment that in a place with a lot of people who will report you for it that it gets shut down.
Women are just better organized on this one. There are a lot of communities "dedicated to fighting hate speech" that go around mass reporting and bringing attention to misogyny (or whatever they think misogyny is)
There is a real bias where people just don't take men's issues seriously, because they perceive men as being less capable of being harmed and women as harmless. So telling a man to commit unalive is just perceived as less serious and less harmful.
