I’ve had similar experiences reporting sexist bullshit on this site. Good on you for bringing attention to this! Absolutely disgusting

[–]PrefixThenSuffix 35 points36 points37 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Sexism and racism are the official policies of the reddit TOS.

[–]Actual_HumanBeing 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Their versions of it that fit their narrative.

[+]Gengis-Naan 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Do you also report the sexist comments by men on this subreddit?

[–]BEEZY086 80 points81 points82 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I've had a very similar experience in reporting hate to reddit admins. But, unfrotunately, I've completely given up on it because they obviously dont give a fuck. This is more of a response than I've ever received, even if it is completely lacking in logic.

I would, however, like to see these losers try to elaborate on what qualifies as "vulnerabilities." Because from the sound of it, they have zero idea what the word means.

[–]desterion 10 points11 points12 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They cared for 2 weeks right after the DOJ breathed down their necks over Elon. Then they completely stopped again

[–]Actual_HumanBeing 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

💯

[–]Salamadierha 65 points66 points67 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

People who differentiate on the grounds of sex are sexist. People who differentiate on the grounds of race are racist.

That admin fulfils both examples in 1 go. Nice of them to be so efficient.

[–]aChileanDude 18 points19 points20 points 1 year ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

They stand behind convicted Trans child abuse enablers.

[–]Same_Sentence_3470 71 points72 points73 points 1 year ago (13 children) | Copy Link

I am fairly new to Reddit. Hatred is ok as long as its directed towards men. Is this true? What happens if it's hatred towards women?

[–]Tragedy-of-Fives 77 points78 points79 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. Hatred towards women gets you taken off the platform. But not towards men

[–]4444-uuuu 58 points59 points60 points 1 year ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Yes. The reddit rules on hate speech make an exception for hate speech against men (or White people). This is supposedly because men have so much privilege that hating us is okay.

[–]vivi112 29 points30 points31 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And it totally reverses the supposed privilege as an effect.

If you want to know who rules you, think who you cannot critique.

[–]House-of-Raven 26 points27 points28 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

The Reddit ToS doesn’t make that exception, the admins are just selectively enforcing their rules. Technically, since they’re admitting wrongdoing, you could sue them. But you’d need the resources to be able to sue them just for the sake of proving a point.

[–]PrefixThenSuffix 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Incorrect. The reddit TOS explicitly allow for sexism against men and racism against white people.

[–]Wylanderuk 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The Reddit ToS doesn’t make that exception

It does now, previously it happened but was not codified.

[–]ThrowRA44576532 4 points5 points6 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If I was rich I'd do it

[–]PSRBill 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Filing one pro se now as a matter of fact

[–]wordjedi 16 points17 points18 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It NEVER makes any sense, because there are broke men (70% of homeless), incarcerated men, disabled men, chronically ill men, etc. Gender doesn't suddenly entitle you to an easy life of privilege.

It's such a brain dead take on how life works

[–]jumboron1999 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

make an exception for hate speech against men (or White people)

Indian people too. Specifically indian men.

[–]psych_student_841 point 1 year ago [recovered] | Copy Link

When has hate ever helped anyone's cause?

[–]Numerous_Solution756 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

An issue of reddit is that mods can more or less do whatever they want.

I'm sure if you asked reddit's CEO if hatred against men is okay, he'd say "no." But a reddit mod can be blatantly sexist against men and face no repercussions.

[–]Trump4Prison-2024 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You can literally take a feminists post bashing men, keep the exact wording just flip the genders, and post it on the exact same sub.

Hers will get thousands of up votes, cheers, snaps, and "Yas Queen"s. His will be a permanent ban within the hour.

[–]TheRealJamesHoffa 21 points22 points23 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The fact that they don’t give them the same protections is literally what makes them vulnerable

[–]FrankFace81 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I second your post. I had a yoga group on meetup.com and I as a white male was consistently pushed to the bottom of the list due to the algorithm, even though my group was successful (I did flier campaigns and Craigslist simultaneously). I tested this discrimination by using multiple IP addresses, devices, locations and search criteria. Groups/classes with barely any patronage were put well above me and were all female.

[–]TheRealJamesHoffa 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s wild and blatant discrimination

[–]Lets_Remain_Logical 11 points12 points13 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I wish that all men leave this shit social media and leave them to their echo chamber.... Because I will tell you : it's already a Gaslighting toxic echo chamber. Just go to AITA anf keep asking them what would be their opinion if the genders were reversed.

[–]SparkLabReal 23 points24 points25 points 1 year ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised once when I reported a woman for blatant misandry and she got permabanned, so hopefully this doesn't apply to every reddit admin.

[–]UnarasDayth[S] 15 points16 points17 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's encouraging!

[–]Revolutionary_Ad6359 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

how do you know when someone is perma banned from a subreddit?

[–]SparkLabReal 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It was from reddit and they were like "we are glad to inform tou that appropriate action has been taken place" ect ect

[–]Overlord0123 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Sometimes they sacrifice a troublesome troublemaker to clean their image so do not be fooles.

[–]icedragon71 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And yet some subs will ban you automatically if their bot detects you've made comments on here. Not if you've said anything offensive on the other sub, but simply been active on here.

You're then told the only way to get unbanned, is to come here, delete all posts made here, and then go grovelling back to the other sub and message the mods that you understand the ban, have deleted all comments made here, and are "now ready to be unbanned." It's a joke.

[–]RealStarkey 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s just a weapon in the war against the patriarchy

[–]Alkatane 12 points13 points14 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What did you expect from far-leftists like them?

[–]SaltyBigBoi 35 points36 points37 points 1 year ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

They know what they're doing, and they don't care. These are the same people who rode Elon musk's cock and took down posts and subreddits criticizing him, they have no self-awareness or shame whatsoever

[–]ayroxus94 17 points18 points19 points 1 year ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Why would they take down posts criticising Musk, Reddit is woke left.

[–]4444-uuuu 18 points19 points20 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think he's talking about in the past. Musk was popular among leftists until a few years ago

[–]weibull-distribution 8 points9 points10 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Just 3 years ago they were making bumper stickers and headers: "Elon Musk is bringing us the future! Be like Elon."

[–]wordjedi 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's hilarious that now Teslas have gone on the same path from left-right affiliation signaling accessory as Musk himself

It happened so fast it made me dizzy. I don't even understand anything anymore. Maybe covid made everyone crazy?

[–]SaltyBigBoi 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

When he threatened legal action against reddit, everyone did a 180 and started nuking anything related to him for a short time. Again, it just highlights that they don't really care about moderating anything, they just like the power and will do anything to keep it

[–]psych_student_841 point 1 year ago [recovered] | Copy Link

They are the authority now and they are still punching down on the things they think have privilege

[–]Zestyclose-Guava-255 17 points18 points19 points 1 year ago (4 children) | Copy Link

My country has a national subreddit dedicated to men. As one might expect, there are a lot of posts made by depressed men who want to decry their situation. Mods of that subreddit tend to call them ”incels” and ”people with no personality” and they also tend to nitpick their posts while refusing to consider their mental state at the time of writing the said post. Said mods also invited 2+ women in the moderator team.

Go figure, lol.

[–]Short_King_13 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

India?

[–]Zestyclose-Guava-255 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Romania

[–]Nocturnemoney70 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The india subreddit isn't quite dead, yet. They say there's silence before the storm, we are feeling it

[–]SarcasticallyCandour 5 points6 points7 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's odd because some subs have misandry as well as misogyny listed in their rules as a forbidden behavior.

Individual subs seem to apply thibgs differently. But overall reddit is a progressive cesspit so anti white or anti male prejudice or malice is acceptable.

[–]True-Lychee 7 points8 points9 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Men, particularly white men, are at the bottom of the Marxist oppression totem pole and cannot be discriminated against. Buying into this framework is mandatory to become a Reddit moderator.

[–]Ace2Face 3 points4 points5 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

should be honestly pinned to the sub

[–]ronstoppable7 16 points17 points18 points 1 year ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The longer I stay on reddit, the longer I realize it's filled with a bunch of soyboys and do nothings, and this is coming from someone who enjoys both regular milk and soy milk.

It's just a cesspit of virtue signaling pickme men at the end of the day.

[–]Informal-Document-77 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Reddit is one of the most "virtue signaling" platfroms ever, due to the stupid-ahh karma system.
Theres a few subs outside of that, where trolling and overall more free speech is permitted, I'd say notably r/PoliticalCompassMemes , they use cover of "memes" for plausible deniability tho, cant blame them

[–]Punder_man 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I mean.. they are putting a lot of weight on the OR in their rule..

"Communities and users that incite violence or that promote hate based on IDENTITY or Vulnerability will be banned"

Based on that they are only focusing on "Vulnerability" and ignoring Identity..
Which is convenient for them because they can then say "White people and men are not protected because they don't suffer a vulnerability"

At least they could remove the "Identity" part from their rule and at least be accurate..

[–]UnarasDayth[S] 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Even worse imo. It's an identity which can be assigned, and the only judge of that asignature is they themselves. An ironclad web.

[–]MrKrispyIsHere 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I was banned from a server just because I was in this server. Cowards.

[–]narwaffles 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I guess this must be where the “racism is only racism if it’s towards the more oppressed group” comments I keep seeing now are coming from

[–]psych_student_84 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's amazing, it's from the company itself, i'm speechless.

[–]Vegetable_Ad1732 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The way to end this is to vote in the interest of men. Woke must die.

[–]Miles-Standoffish 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They love hatred!

Orwell knew what he was talking about.

[–]Emotional_Object08 2 points3 points4 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Don't censor that idiotic mod's username, or if it can get you in trouble to make it public here I would appreciate it if you send it to me on private

[–]weibull-distribution 6 points7 points8 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Surprising in teh extreme I don't see this posted mroe. I'm going to crosspost to my fb

[–]Snoter105 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So good to know reddit admins only care if you're getting hated on if you're not white or a dude

[–]sporeboyofbigness 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Pretty bad that they consider being male "not a vulnerability". Considering that 95% of homeless are male. And 80% of suicides are. And a whole bunch of other issues males face, due to discrimination by women and the pathetic males who enact women's control over society.

[–]KPplumbingBob 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Doesn't pertain to white people...", unless they are a woman.

Best thing about all this is that the average redditor will tell you "reddit hates women". You have subs like iamthemaincharacter where vast majority of the posts are women. Somehow pointing that out is ban worthy misogyny.

It's funny to me how women as a group, literal majority, always put themselves among vulnerable minorities like gays, trans etc. Basically an automatic victim card in all situations.

[–]Informal-Document-77 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hell, lots of female subs have a rule of "No men allowed" imagine how fast a male sub would get nuked if it had a similiar rule? LMAO.

[–]Adventurous_Design73 1 point2 points3 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You'll get banned or temp banned for saying anything about women

Women can say anything about men and they don't get banned for it

[–]Fantastic-Tale 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Identity OR vulnerability

[–]Alternative_Try5751 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

When I play Doom, GTA or any other violent video game, I just pretend the NPCs are all Reddit mods.

[–]neos7m 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

They only protect people "who are attacked based on a vulnerability".

First of all, if they are attacked, why should we care about the reason? We're not talking about some justice system that has to take motive into account to evaluate mitigating or aggravating circumstances, we're talking about removing hateful posts from a website that should promote cohesion and community spirit.

Second of all, define vulnerability. If a group is constantly attacked due to an immutable characteristic, I call that characteristic a vulnerability. If it walks like a duck...

[–]ThemeHonest5388 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Utterly DISGUSTING

[–]Actual_HumanBeing 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh I absolutely know how the admins are on this site. They are active minions of oppression that support the trolls.

[+]ObjectiveCreep 0 points1 point2 points 1 year ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, they don’t seem to consider the hatred towards women in this subreddit to be a problem either.
