I think it depends on how long. It can take a moment to understand what someone is saying if the mood shifts that quickly, but the ability to withdraw consent has to be respected. If it was a few seconds and he didn’t know she said stop, I think he acted reasonably, any more than a few seconds or if he recognized what she said and kept going, that is definitely rape.

Hard to say with the info….ive had sex where the girl wanted to stop but in the moment of everything I didn’t hear her say it under her breath and then she said it again louder and I stopped right away and consoled her.

If the girl said to stop and he just didn’t care and wanted to get off since it already started then yeah that guys an ass

The only reasonable response would have been to stop and ask "do you want me to pull out/stop completely". If the answer is yes and you keep going, that is fucking rape. If the answer is "no just be more gentle etc and I'll see how I feel" then no. There doesn't really seem to be a lot of context here, if he didn't hear the first time for example that makes it more complicated.

Did she say "stop" (which is clearly withdrawal of consent), or did she say "it hurts" (which can be open for discussion)?

One is an absolute, and the other is a statement. I've had an experience where the woman said "that hurt" so I stopped and she asked why, I said because you said "that hurt" she replied, "yea, but a good hurt." So that's why I'm asking for clarification.

If the objection is vocalized and unambigous, and the guy chooses to go on anyway, it becomes rape pretty quickly. But then there are the nuances that can't be dismissed. Young people, unexperienced, insecure, misunderstandings, set and setting ... Being accused or convicted of rape is extremely serious and must be handled very carefully and with extreme precaution.

I had a situation once where a girl said don’t stop and I thought she said stop and it kinda ruined her orgasm. So I could definitely see it going the other way. In the moment you might not fully understand the difference between dirty talk and actual commands as well. I’d say as long as he didn’t force it to keep going it is not rape. A few seconds or even slightly longer if he misheard her is an accident. If he disregarded what she said just to Nut then yes that’s rape. It can go either way depending on the context. Feminists are quick to shout rape. So many men’s lives are ruined by this. False accusations should equal jail time.

It amazes me how a couple who know each other better than anyone else can fail to clearly communicate whether sex should stop or continue, yet strangers on the internet who know nothing about them or the situation feel confident deciding whether it was rape or not.

I actually believe some of these reddit posts are unrealistic and created by some groups just to widen the perceived definition of rape. Yes sex can hurt sometimes, even for men. Does it mean it's rape if it doesn't stop? Not the teeth not the teeth pleaseee

Yes, that's rape. The moment someone tells you to stop a sex act you stop because they've withdrawn any consent you had. I've had a good amount of sex and no it's not hard to stop when someone says hey that hurts stop or don't do that. Unless I'm misunderstanding it sounds like she clearly indicated that he needed to stop and he didn't.

I'm going to share a story that a lady friend shared with me once. When she was in HS she went into the woods with a popular boy and told him they could kiss which he agreed to. At one point he pinned her down and she repeated just kissing as he pulled her pants off. So why didn't she fight back or kick and scream? Did he physically threaten her? No but he was significantly larger and her and had a reputation for having hit one of his girlfriends. She she alone in the woods reasoned in the way many women of my generation did. She reasoned that she needed to just take it because even if he didn't beat the shit out her and do it anyway people would just say she had it coming. As men we need to stop the myth that if a woman's not kicking and screaming or if a man's not being violent then it's not rape.

I always suggest a safe word where you stop immediately when hearing it. This also allows the girl to immerse herself in more rough stuff by allowing herself to say "no" and "please stop" even though she doesn't really mean it.

Umm like if the girl told him to stop than yes it is rape and even if the girl said its too painfull thats like saying stop but not directly so he should ask her if she wants to stop so tbh i would consider it rape and if the girl said it and the guy didnt hear it than it aint his fault she should have said it louder again.

She (or he, for that matter) says stop, do not continue, withdrawl, and the other person refuses to do so and continues anyway, that's rape (or at least sexual assault, depending what jurisdiction and body parts or other that's inserted and where). That's basically it. Nothin' philosophical about it. Clear, simple, legal.

Let's take another analogy. Let's say someone fully consents to having a knife stuck in 'em, and with willing partner someone does that for them. Then they say stop, too deep/painful, take the knife out - but the other person continues - pokes the knife in more, wriggles it around, cuts more - that has now become assault. They were told stop/withdraw, they didn't but continued - it's then a crime, from that point forward - as soon as they were well told, heard, understood, failing top stop and withdraw at that point then makes it a crime. No philosophy needed - consent clearly removed, it stops, person withdraws - otherwise it's a crime.

Now, does take person time to hear, understand, process and react. So no, they won't be out in a tenth of a millisecond. But tens of seconds more, let alone minutes more, yeah, clearly illegal then, as in such case they're clearly continuing despite consent having been removed.

Law wise, it depends on the state as this will be a he said/she said issue. But if she said stop/it hurts and he didn't stop.... Then yah, it's rape.
