Long time lurker and student. 38, 6’1, 220 lbs, 15% BF. Yeah yeah I know.

I’ve decided to stay pretty detached from women for the most part after learning everything after a big breakup 8 years ago. This works for me. I never wanted children and I’m indifferent on marriage. Plus now that I know what women actually are, it’s… meh. I just don’t see them the same as I once did.

I usually keep a few at the same time and I’m a workaholic. Anyway. Fast forward. Met a great girl. Not my type. But beautiful by all objective standards (I’m picky). In my frame. Kind. Nurturing. Patient. Helpful. Easy to get along with. And reasonable, for the most part. The sex for her is great. For me it’s ok, I can take it or leave it. I don’t crave it from her much, my theory is it’s because she’s my age (38). I noticed when I go younger, or younger AND my type, I’m turned on 24/7. My hormones are fine. TRT.

Because of work and time, I let the other plates fall off. She was the most practical and beneficial choice anyway. Helped with my business, seem to genuinely care about me, and shit like that. But as always… women care about themselves and their feelings more. So…..

She now wants a label. I’m hesitant to give her one. She’s great but I know how this goes. They’re chronically dissatisfied creatures and she’ll just find more things to want later on. The label won’t change anything even though she thinks it will.

Not sure what to do here. She basically poured her heart out on an email saying she’s hurt since she doesn’t know where she stands in my life and blah blah blah. I’ve had this talk with her before and explained that because of how my work is at the moment, I don’t feel stable. Which is true.

But it seems like she’s reaching the end of her rope. Which I expected at some point anyway. I always expect women to be temporary now.

Choices:

  • give the title
  • refuse and possibly lose the girl

Thoughts? I told her I’d talk to her about it in person.

Bonus info: this is the busiest and most stressful time of year for me when it comes to work. Which she knows. She has no kids or dogs. She was with a man for well over a decade before I came into the picture.
