Well, last year around this time, I asked my fellow Redditors about divorce and its impact on kids and life. Some said it was the best decision they ever made, while others said it made their lives a living nightmare.

Well, last week I made the decision, and in two weeks I am moving out to start the divorce process. Talking to the kids was the hardest part. They understood what was happening. My teenager was much more aware than my younger child, who is 9.

The mom and I have agreed on many things. We're not going to use lawyers, and we're going to do our best to keep this friendly and peaceful. It's going to be rough for a while, especially during the move and transition, but I am truly positive that it will get better. I will do everything I can to make sure this becomes one of the best decisions I have made for my kids and myself.
