I recently started wearing watches, and it's dope. I got 2, for different occasions. Do you guys have experience with it?

I will say, wearing a watch is rarely going to make or break your game. So this is really nitpicking into details. But if you want to maximize your looks and style, it's a great way to do so.

Women usually say they don't care about a guy's watch, unless it's over-the-top showy or too large (and in that case - they consider it a turn-off), but here's what they will instead say when a guy wears a watch that suits the outfit and social context:

"He looks put-together", "He dresses well", "He seems responsible". etc.

They can't exactly explain why. But the watch plays a big role in cementing the whole outfit and impression. When done right, it elevates an outfit from "normal dude" to "stylish, put-together man". I know it seems cliché to say that shit, but it is what it is.

On dates: It's way more slick to check your watch for time, than to dig deep into your tight pocket only to fish out your oversized phone with a dirty case and broken protective glass, just to check the time. Instant turn-off.

A watch can communicate something about you.

- If you wear a big ass expensive diving watch, like a Rolex, you communicate that you're into the superficial status-symbol game. And if she's the same type, great. But if she's not - it probably gives her douchebag vibes. Most women are usually turned off by it.

- If your watch matches the occasion (for example, you wore that same big diving watch on the outside of a wet suit as you two go on a snorkeling date), then you just showed social intelligence and contextual understanding. Which IS attractive. Context changes everything. Watches need to match the context.

- If your watch matches your outfit in terms of formality, and colors then you also get additional style points and points for understanding social settings. It's like your watch communicates that you have social skills before you even say a word.

- Your watch can be a topic of conversation if she asks about it. Maybe it's a personal heirloom from your grandpa that flew planes during WWII. OK, damn, now that watch made you seem like a cool dude with a deep family history.

General "watch style" rules:

  • Do NOT wear a watch too big for your wrist. Try on sizes in a watch store. Note which dial sizes, thicknesses, and lug-to-lug distances that are acceptable for you. This is the most common mistake guys make.
  • Do NOT spend a lot of money to get a "big brand" watch like Rolex or Omega unless that is cheap for you. Women don't give a rats ass about it. Instead go for microbrands that they have no idea about, and quartz movements to save your money. A benefit of Quartz is that they are typically thinner watches so usually look a bit more stylish because of it. I recently got one watch from Vaer (for more sporty occasions), and one from Sternglass for things like coffee dates. I recommend both brands as they give you stylish options, small size watches, and won't break the bank. Plus, 99% of women have no idea about these brands or how cheap or expensive they are.
  • Get some different straps for your watch. Straps are much cheaper than buying a new watch, and with the quick-release function changing straps takes just a few seconds. If you match your. strap to your outfit, or at least make the colors work (or match with your shoes and belt for example), then your whole outfit just went from an 8 to a 9 instantly.

Peace out. As always, no AI in this post bros. Do you wear a watch? Lemme know your experience.
