Why do some men do things that are contrary to their self-interest?

wife got mad and asked me to leave the house when she got home. So I did.

When the seas are rough, a captain does not abandon ship. So why would you do so at the suggestion of your first mate? She is likely planning a mutiny (and for good reason). Her drunk captain will soon be ousted. Is it too late to show her that you're capable of navigating this ship successfully?.

Also, ask yourself: Did you want to leave the house? Do you feel that this was a sound decision? Why were you asked to leave the house?

Then needed me to take the kids that night (I had been gone 36 hours), so she could go to a church dinner. I did not comply.

Fatherhood is an honor. So why shun an added opportunity to spend time with your children? What were you doing that night? What did you gain by doing this? Do you feel this was somehow punishing her?

Consider the perspective of your children - would it have been better to take them out and show them what an awesome father you are?

The latest is an email where sh says I've been putting the family last for so long.

Maybe she's right.

Get back to your house. If she wants to leave she can. Try to come back when she is gone so she doesn't start a big fight or some bullshit. When she gets home don't even bring it up. If she asks just say it's my home - you go where you want.

You can't convey the appropriate AA or AM via text. If she texts you logistics, reply appropriately. If she texts feelings just say "ok, we can talk about it later." If she texts crazy "ok" or "sure" or no response is good enough. You're in a pretty deep hole so you might be better served by reading more, playing with your kids, and working on yourself. This woman is obviously done with your shit.

Read through some of your posts. Your problem is simple and universal here. You live in your wife's frame….100% completely…until recently, now you are down to 98%.

Now you are trying to get out for her head, her frame, and think for yourself. You are having a hard time. For you it is like trying to ride a bike, for the first time. You are going to fall down a lot. Your kids will get bruised too. Maybe your wife won't be around after you get your shit together, but your kids will be….don't forget that.

You obviously want to improve your life. You are trying but, you need to think more about what you are doing, BEFORE you do it. You're like the 10 year kid that runs away from home, because he is frustrated beyond his ability to cope.

Again, assuming that this is the case, you are going to have to do a tremendous amount of internal work to develop your own frame.

The suggestion of reading, re-reading, studying over and over again, NNMNG is the beginning point for you. DO NOT PROCEED WITH ANYTHING until you have a handle on this.

In this process, try to minimize the impact your own mental journey will have on your kids.
