I’ve never been a situation like this but the only day me and this one guy can meet up is during his birthday. It will be a first date. He says he doesn’t have anything planned for that time. Is this too awkward? Do I need to do anything different than a normal first date? I’m under the impression that I don’t need to bring a gift right??

Edit: He mentioned twice that he would be happy to cook for me. After the second time I said that I’m not open to that, he said he mentioned that I case I felt uneasy going out to COVID :/
