You should read real difficult books built on a hard philosophical foundation like Ride The Tiger. Because if you don't. If you build your worldview on mushy self help books, then this happens.

[–]Eagle-51327 points28 points  (0 children) | Copy

Hahaha omg. That video is ridiculous. What you said is accurate though

[–]mulga12219 points20 points  (0 children) | Copy

Wait what the heck is this ridiculous video?)

Why do i see rollo tomassi there?

[–]Magnum9946 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

It started with medusa, took off with a soap, and it’s gonna end worse than RSD did, probably with these guys picking up the soap in front of Jack Donovan.

[–]WarriorMonkMode12 points13 points  (0 children) | Copy

Truly, they are the men, the myths, and the legends of the manosphere.

Oh, if only the Staceys knew!

[–]rp26262 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

So true. I read one of those books and it was just a less practical repeat of everything in the sidebar.

[–]xkrillz2 points3 points  (1 child) | Copy

can you recommend some more books?

[–]Caper672 points3 points  (3 children) | Copy

I started reading Ride the Tiger this morning. I feel like I'm in over my head . Would you suggest any warm up reads or any particular way of approaching the material ? I'll literally read the same line over and over trying to grasp the context. At this rate I may finish the book by the time I'm 80 lol but I refuse to read through blindly without understanding... Maybe my iq isn't quite what I thought it was haha

Lol. This is exactly how I feel. I do difficult books are like doing squats even when you don’t feel like it, while regular self help books is similar to using the machine leg press.

How do you recommend vetting some harder books? Unfortunately they tend to have a lack of reviews on both author and the book itself. Just want some ideas to be sure it’s a book with legitimate concepts

[–]Fatsenberg89 points90 points  (10 children) | Copy

I once went over all posts similar to this one and gathered a list of all the books recommended (50+) and ordered them by most recommended. I'll just type the top 10.

1- The Rational Male

2- The Book of Pook

3- Meditations

4- No More Mr. Nice Guy

5- Models

6- The Way of the Superior Man

7- How to Win Friends and Influence people

8- 48 Laws of Power

9- The Way of Men

10- The Power of Now

[–]Helmet_Icicle8 points9 points  (0 children) | Copy

Models but not Subtle Art?

[–]AlfredKinsey2 points3 points  (0 children) | Copy

Aren't most of these in the sidebar, neway?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children) | Copy

I hated the book of pook, writing style felt annoying and obnoxious

[–]Quo2101 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Nice list. Saving.

[–]omega_dawg931 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

i agree with all but #6... didn't get much out of it.

[–]OutsideTheCage31 point2 points  (0 children) | Copy

Some more.

The Tucker Max/Geoffrey Miller book is underrated, perhaps because it's newer than most of those other books.

[–]xx-Rain_Maker-xx0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

This list plus "the art of war"

[–]RedHoodhandles0 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

I'd be interested in the other 40. Do you mind sharing?

If you haven't read The Rational Male you are not truly red pilled

[–]SgtLasagna 1 points [recovered]  (2 children) | Copy

Can confirm. Ive has this book by my bed unread and I am not truly redpill yet.

[–]trp3691 point2 points  (1 child) | Copy

Yo same I ordered most of the recommended books and never ended up reading them, no surprise it was near the same time I started getting more blue pulled again because I didn’t put in the work to top up my red pill knowledge

The Rational Male is the Red Pill Bible

[–]chito123450 points1 point  (2 children) | Copy

Is there a way to get the book online? Or do I have to buy it?

[–]koldkillah833 points4 points  (0 children) | Copy

Audible has it, but they may take it down soon thanks to BP’s and SJW’s. Also, it’s a pretty intense read so may have to listen to it several times to remember everything

[–]Caper67 1 points [recovered]  (6 children) | Copy

All 3 Rational Male books

Original, Preventitive Medicine and Positive Masculinity, I think , are equally as important as the sidebar.

[–]ainihon2 points3 points  (5 children) | Copy

What’s the focus on preventive medicine and positive masculinity? Excerpts from amazon doesn’t help explaining it

[–]Caper67 1 points [recovered]  (4 children) | Copy

In Preventative Medicine Rollo digs deep into the different phases of a women all the way from teen to elder. He breaks down how they act, change and what to expect within these different phases of their lives.

There's the teen phase ( 15-19 - mostly attracted to guys purely on looks alone because daddy takes care of anything and everything provision wise and she has no need to seek security or provisioning yet.

The break phase (which is an extension of the teen phase where she goes off to college and usually breaks up with her high school sweet heart to soon begin riding the cock carousel)

the party years ( 20-25 cock carousel with alphas)

The Epiphany phase (26-29 - shes starting to lose her sexual market value and can no longer snag the alphas she used to in her peak phase and needs to soon check out of the game with a beta she can snag before her looks and smv get too deteriorated.)

The transitory phase (29-31 Shes pulling out all the stops now to try and snag a beta and have a child before its too late.)

The security phase (31 + ,looks and alpha traits matter a lot less now and future security and provisioning take precedent.

The Development phase ( From the security phase to the development phase is generally a time during which the woman has satisfied the security needs side of her hypergamy (beta bucks ) with a man she consolidated a long term security with during her epiphany, transitory or security phase. Typically 7-9 years after consolidating with her beta, she now has a hunger for alpha cock again.

The 7 year itch ( the kids are older now, self sufficient, the bills are paid and shes now second guessing the Beta she snagged at her epiphany ( could I have done better?) She now thinks about the alphas she used to fuck and will most likely seek one out again. Shel cheat, the relationship may end , the beta most likely gets court raped.)

The 7 year inch can also be the 20 year itch since stats show that marriages / relationships tend to dissolve at the 7 -9 year range or the 20 year range, dependent on certain factors like amount of children. At the 20 year mark both parents generally become "empty nesters."

As a women continues to age Rollo get's into more phases like Redevelopment and reassurance phases as well as late phase securty.

That doesn't even scratch the surface of Preventative Medicine. A shit load of what to expect, and how to act accordingly to prevent yourself from being a victim of women's Tasmanian devil like hypergamy.

Volume 3 Positive Masculinity Rollo get's into Red Pill parenting, how we can go about raising our children subtlety in a red pill manner and how to approach it depending on different ages as well as how to help unplug people based on their ages etc.

After that he gets into a lot of the same stuff as the first and second book however in a lot more detail in a more practical way of "how to" as opposed to why. If that makes sense?

I felt like the First Rational Male was the "Why's" and Positive Masculinity was more along the lines of the "hows."

Well, someone's already said it, but Book of Pook, for sure. One of my favorite things about is that it has a radically original style and tone that I find easy to digest, i.e. it is very glib and humorous.

[–]resnine0 points1 point  (0 children) | Copy

Yes, books that don't take themselves too seriously, while dropping some serious knowledge at the same time are true gems.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children) | Copy

No, disregard this. Total waste of time. Wanted to gouge my eyes out every time he kept talking about himself in third person. So f***** annoying

Death By a Thousand Sluts helped with understanding and overcoming the mental barriers of approaching. Not to mention it's also hilarious.

[–]resnine3 points4 points  (7 children) | Copy

What's the general idea in your words? Sounds funny af

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (6 children) | Copy

It's essentially a memoir of a guy who got interested in the PUA scene. It tells his story of being on the brink of suicide due to being involuntarily celibate and his journey to overcome it. Each chapter is littered with footnotes and boxes which contain red pill concepts; all in all, a great book for newbies.

Could you share the file with us.

Must read ALWAYS is The Rationale Male, No More Mr. Nice Guy, Sex God Method, Models, Book of Pook, How to Win Friends and Influence People, and 48 laws of power. While the TRM and 48 Laws of Power are necessary to unplug they're kind of boring, but they're needed, badly, and please don't take em as gospel. Just read them, use the tools given to you when YOU think is best.

[–]mrbasic-23 points24 points  (0 children) | Copy

I'm still new to TRP, and "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert A. Glover helped open my eyes to a lot of things (like A LOT). I highly recommend this book.

No more mr nice guy for how readily it breaks you down like a therapist and says hey, you need boundaries and you have no balls.

Your balls are under your mothers pillow. I learned that from Iron John. The good news is you don’t need her to get them back, but you will have to take a risk with women that mommy might not like!

Welcome to the Desert of the Real for an easy intro, Ride the Tiger once you've read that. Don't spend too much time masturbating to the Rational Male because thats how you end up with needing women for external validation. Next thing you know you are a travelling soap salesman
