It wasn’t supposed to be this way. We men learned how to change diapers and cook risotto. We learned to watch for barely perceptible nods of approval before opening doors for women. We even learned to manscape, for goodness sake. Women were supposed to be happy with the new variety of men

And this is why the Red Pill exists guys. I guess our old motto ''watch what they do not what they say'' would be useful here.

[–]HS-Thompson62 points63 points64 points 11 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

That is an excellent article, one of the best jobs I have seen of wrapping up some basic concepts of The Red Pill in a package that is able to be read by a mainstream audience.

[–]TankVet17 points18 points19 points 11 years ago* (9 children) | Copy Link

It also does an excellent job of describing red pill values in terms of more than just "alpha game." I have always felt that the sexual strategy aspect comes secondary to the personal maturation and masculinity of TRP.

You can't just "be alpha," you need purpose and values.

Edit: you need to be a Man.

[–]PeteMullersKeyboard8 points9 points10 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Agreed. I don't see TRP as just a way to bed women, although you can view it as such. I view the basic principals as a way to live your life...it's much larger than dealing with women although due to the rise of insane militant feminism, that's a huge part of it.

Be a man...sums it up perfectly. Take life by the horns. Be confident. Be sure of yourself. Have values, convictions, morals, ideals, and a goal in life. Be driven to succeed, constantly work to make yourself better. That way, nobody can give you shit, not a woman or another male who wants to make your life hell.

[–]Senior Contributordeepthrill9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Correct. There's no just "being alpha" since that's just acting, and it's unsustainable in the long term. Eventually these "alpha" play-actors will "slip up" and fall back into their beta ways. The amount of mental energy it takes to act all the time is ridiculous.

You must "become alpha" and have that drive come from knowing and fully embracing your mission, purpose, and values.

Having and refining your purpose and values will allow you to change your core, so that being alpha is no longer difficult or acting; it's just who you are.

[–]1gerwig9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I see it as just not being beta. The red pill tells us all the ways we are being pussies. Eliminate idealistic beliefs, stop catering to other people, stop making excuses. What remains is an "alpha", a man stripped of his weakness and dependency.

I like that. We're all just alpha at the core, but mainstream society has added these layers of social expectations atop us.

Psychology Today is a GREAT site. Generally their articles are evidence driven with a big emphasis on evolutionary psychology, with very little patience for ideology i.e. feminism.

[–]bluedrygrass2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

It's not so good. In the end it makes a major, pure blue pill mistake: " That means men must be willing to say to women, I will walk to the ends of the earth if it brings you happiness. I will adopt new behaviors if it eases your burden and feeds our love."

This shit is pure beta submission.

[–]Hajimotto 2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"But I cannot relinquish my masculinity or my purpose."

[–]Radox_Redux1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There is no submission or domination, except in the terms applied by second-wave feminists to gender roles. There's just co-dependence.

Granted that statement was a little too forbearing, but it was cherry-picked out of context all the same.

[–]HS-Thompson0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Submission is not what's actually being suggested though, it's more like a rhetorical device.

Consider this "meatloaf logic" or something, as in "I would do anything for love, but I won't do that."

[–]anonlymouse0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The earth has no ends, so it's clearly a metaphor. Giving up your expression of kindness to keep her happy fits.

[–]franzois_22 points23 points24 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Women behaving like women. Nothing new here.

"perfect" men are too predictable and thus boring.

Imperfect men give feels and feels (good and bad) is what bitches dig, you dig?

Problem is, that eventually imperfect men are often (not always) too unstable to build a family with. Same old dilemma for women... yawn Thrill vs security...

Improve yourself sure, but also embrace the imperfections you cannot change, own them, that is where confidence and self-respect are born.

[–]Iupvoteforknowledge15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's all about the feels. It's better to have a girl hate you, you can turn that around than to be invisible. A girl can mantra, fuck him, fuck him, and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

[–]franzois_7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, as long as you are on the radar. The worst thing is indifference.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Indeed. The second you're trying to turn around indifference you've pretty much lost. Better to abandon ship and chalk it up as a learning experience or just a bad match (it does happen).

[–]RedPill1150 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Problem is, that eventually imperfect men are often (not always) too unstable to build a family with. Same old dilemma for women... yawn Thrill vs security...

Thing is, if things were more balanced and less insane, this is not inherently bad

Children 0-5 learn the most from the interactions of their parents. It's the only thing around them. You have a happy, successful couple with no drama, and their kids hit school and the world around them, and have no idea how to handle drama, conflict, or manipulation. They're completely blindsided.

Problem is, people become emotional addicts. Women look for thrill-with-no-reason constantly, men look for validation-on-everything constantly, it doesn't work out much better than stability with no excitement.

[–]franzois_0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Well any therapist who deals with depressive people who were in unstable households as kids and developed some sort of PTSD would disagree but ok...

[–]RedPill1150 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Part of me wants to be snarky about "are these the same therapists who mostly find themselves unable to actually fix the people they say they're trying to help?".

But I suspect that mostly you're jumping to the extremes. To much conflict and the child has no idea how to resolve conflicts without excessive drama, to little and it's like I was saying above.

It's a scale, not an absolute - neither extreme end of the spectrum is healthy.

[–]DarkCircle2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I am sure if he shouted at her try to get her to go to the gym and not eat so many cup cakes that would be considered abusive.

How about instead of attacking the guy, she acts like an adult and says what she wants?

How about instead of attacking the guy, she acts like an adult and says what she wants?

Because then she wouldn't be a woman.

I can't help but think that some light spousal abuse is the answer to this situation. Just imagine her opening her big fucking mouth to curse out her decent husband. He just smacks her face (open handed, people, relax i'm not a monster). Looks her in the eyes and tells her to shut the fuck up and never talk to him again. Proceed to bend her over and spank her ass. Slip in the D. Boom, marriage saved.

Beating your wife worked for thousands of years. Beating your kids worked for thousands of years. A few decades without these two things and society is about to collapse with depressed, cunty women and petulant bratty children. Bring back the beatings!

Get educated, hitting you kids lowers IQ and leads to a whole host of issues.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW162 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

r/K selection

Not all humans use the K strategy. Some prefer r strategy, and they will outnumber your higher-IQ kids.

[–]1oldredder0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Depends. If they're already so far from bright they're trying to get electrocuted, burned or walking into traffic a spanking is better than getting killed. Pain is a reinforcement mechanism.

Some children are born unable to feel pain. They usually die by age 13 from injuries since they have no concept of pain=bad so stop.

[–]workunit130 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If a young child is put in a position where they can be electrocuted, burned or walk into a road, its the failing of the parent for not properly looking out for their child, and I would argue that the anger when hitting the child is really anger at themselves for their negligence.

Spanking does not work at all, the behavior is usually always repeated and all you will get is a child that fears/hates you, has less reasoning skills, a lower IQ and is more likely to use violence on others and end up a criminal.

This is all verified by scientists and evidence. Sweden banned hitting children in the 70s or 80s and they have one of the lowest crime rates in the world.

[–]1oldredder0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

A good spanking is part of that responsibility as a parent. A child may stray & as they get older & faster and a parent has more work to do in the house & actually at work this becomes critical.

Some children will be smart enough not to need pain reinforcement.

Parents who don't use it when needed will find their children badly injured or dead.

Spanking always works when applied properly. Spanking a child for pissing you off only makes the parent look like an asshole.

Nothing you say is verified whatsoever by any real scientists. Not a one.

[–]workunit130 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"Spanking always works when applied properly."

Sorry, its proven that that statement is completely wrong and leads to serious issues when they child grows older.

Anyone advocating using violence against children sounds like an utter monster to me. Call it a different word if you want, violence is wrong.

Am I allowed to beat an old person who is not smart enough not to need pain reinforcement too?

[–]1oldredder0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not sorry & no, it's not proven wrong.

The most serious issue a child will have is getting no spanking while using any kind of aggression or carelessness. That turns kids into gangsters or accidental-suicides. That's why so many more people get injured out of what seems sheer stupidity, or so easily seek to join gang-like fun beating & vandalizing. Those kids never got spanked. Not once.

That's the 100% guaranteed outcome of no spanking.

Only children need pain re-inforcement.

Those who get beyond age 6 are unable to learn further or at all once they've broken boundaries & got no pain-reinforcement learning.

Your example of "old people" is invalid because the learning stage is over.

What you are advocating is 100% Hamster Female no-spank-all-gangster mode for how to raise children.

It's a major cause of the societal collapse we're seeing now.

[–]anonlymouse0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nope. If you look at DV statistics they remain constant across 4 decades and across dozens of countries with very different cultural attitudes towards DV. It hasn't changed. The same percentage of men are beating their wives as they always have (and vice versa).

The problem lies elsewhere.

But a light slap in an appropriate place that causes light pain will get the message across for the child not to disobey authority, because it's psychological.

So you agree with beating children. You are a fucking monster.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That's anti redpill. What you learn here is how to raise your SMV and normalize a relationship WITHOUT resorting to violence.

Redpill is appealing to me as a thought expiriment because:

  1. it isn't about initiation of force, except for the questionable touching escalation which to me is borderline in some cases

  2. it seems to improve a situation by understanding human nature. Or more accurately it seeks to understand the expression of human nature in a modern society.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW163 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes. You make a good point. My last response was a bit tongue in cheek. I don't actually think violence is a good thing. However, I will remind you that violence, like sex, is amoral. It simply is. Violence is a turn on for many women psychologically. It scares the shit out of them and for some fucked up reason they love it. Most abused women go right back to their abusive boyfriends. The whole "it worked for thousands of years" wasn't part of the tongue in cheek bit. It really did work.

TRP isn't about rainbows and pots of gold. It's about the bitter, nasty truth. And this is one of those instances where it's particularly dark. It's why Dark Triads are so successful at mating. Violence works sexually even though it is so destructive.

[–]MyRedAccount0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Actually according to the old definition on the sidebar Redpill is neither pro or anti violence(amoral sexual strategy). If it were strictly anti-violence I would not have made this account(though I wouldn't if the inverse were true either). Redpill, as in people who seek to work within reality, condones violence where it achieves the ends it's intended to. Practically speaking that means things like spanking and sexual choking are generally viewed in a positive light when practiced right, but punching a bitch till she's gone is generally viewed as wrong.

[–][deleted] 16 points17 points18 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

when a woman has a man who is a badboy, she wants him to be sensitive to her issues, to her feelings, she wants him to care.

when she has a man who truly, genuinely cares, she leaves him for the badboy.

its this kinda cognitive dissonance why i stopped giving a damn about what women say. they say they want one thing, but they really don't know what they want from others.

all i can say about "what a woman wants," is, she wants the world to bow down to her every whim, she wants men lining up for her, a whole society built around her.

A woman wants to be the only one who's wishes and whims are fulfilled.

she is incapable of empathy.

in short, if you give her an apple, she wants an orange. when she gets the orange, she runs back to her apple.

i say take both the apple and the orange from her and make her cry.

[–]RedPill1153 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

all i can say about "what a woman wants," is, she wants the world to bow down to her every whim, she wants men lining up for her, a whole society built around her.

And then she also wants someone to show up who's more powerful than her and doesn't cave into her - a reflection of growing up as a girl, gaining influence over her parents but never actually controlling them.

Women prefer to follow, they have two contradicting goals: 1. To follow a powerful lead 2. To gain influence over the lead

She wants to gain the maximum level of influence over everything, but if that happens she doesn't have a powerful lead to follow any more so she's still unhappy. It's like wanting both no crime and no cops. You want both, the fact that it's (apparently) impossible to achieve both at the same time doesn't stop you from wanting it.

[–]AmazonExplorer42 points43 points44 points 11 years ago (21 children) | Copy Link

Notice how the articles looks to men to solve the problem, even though it's women who are the cause of divorces. No agency for women.

[–]Tom_The_Human22 points23 points24 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, women, just like men, can't change what they're attracted to; if the girl you were with let herself go and started acting like a total bitch, and suddenly a younger, feminine, more attractive woman came along, wouldn't you be more attracted to her? Who could blame you if you left your girl to be with the more attractive one? (apart from feminists)

Now, if there are children involved it does change it a little bit, but otherwise it's just their nature.

[–]kanaduhisfruityeh41 points42 points43 points 11 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I don't blame women for being attracted to what they're attracted to. The problem is the whole society basically tells men to be something that women aren't attracted to in order to attract women or be a "good man". That's why there's so many bitter "nice guys". They've been lied to.

[–]Endorsed ContributorRedPillDad0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

They've been lied to.

Not really. Lacking a "Man's Way" map, they just followed the Woman's Way... which for men is basically a lemming's swan dive onto the rocks.

Women compete to wear the pants in the relationship, and some men just casually take the skirt, not realizing the long-term consequences.

When you take on the doting role, you're literally taking her feminine role away for her. You're saying, "I want to be the woman here." That turns her off, and she's losing a joyful part of her relationship role. She doesn't get to dote on her man when you're too busy doting on her.

Edit: Nice Guy behavior is very feminine. Guys inadvertently try to act more feminine and supportive trying to get close to women. It doesn't arouse women. The whole princess-worshiping dynamic is a turn-off.

And any implied intention of making her happiness your priority weakens your position. You're making it clear you're happier as her slave in the master-slave dynamic. That may appeal to her selfish side, but not to her libido.

[–]anonlymouse27 points28 points29 points 11 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Not really.

Yes really. Literally in fact. They've been explicitly lied to.

[–]Endorsed ContributorBluepillProfessor12 points13 points14 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

We have been lied to by countless articles about 'what women want' and 'how to be attractive.' We have been lied to by our mothers who told us to JUST BE YOURSELF and the right girl will come along. We have been lied to by our sisters, aunts, cousins, GF's, lovers, and our wives. The lies have been continual, constant, and in many cases they were known to be lies when they were told but were just repeated for expediency and to further the feminine imperative.

TLDR: Women Lie- watch what they do not what they say.

[+]Endorsed ContributorRedPillDad-6 points-5 points-4 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I'm not ready to defend the ignorant so readily. The average Beta Drone all too eagerly drinks the Kool-Aid regarding gender equality. He wants the soothing social narrative to be real. He wakes up one day and shouts, "They lied to me!" But who really is this "they" in this great conspiracy?

Yes, you can argue his mothers, sisters, teachers, girlfriends misled him. But wasn't he mostly lying to himself? Blaming others is more victimhood and a lack of agency.

[–]bluedrygrass1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

There's no denying that first worl medias are deliberately destroying everything that regards masculinity since... decades.

Our beta, absent fathers are the product of the '68 revolution etc..

[–]AmazonExplorer0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

'68 revolution

I hear that term a lot from Europe (Germany & France), not much in the US. Are you perchance European?

[–]anonlymouse1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

We're not defending them. We're addressing the source of the problem. You can't address it if you don't know the cause.

If you understand that you've been lied to, and that it isn't you, then you can start trusting your instincts instead of overriding them.

[–]1AreYouAware_0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

One of the things you discover is that hypoagency prevents them from solving their problems themselves. That's why they need men to have hyperagency.

[–]DrXaos0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The problem is the deception, and lack of responsibility.

when the woman actively and aggressively makes demands and despises the man for eventually acquiescing under the abuse and snark, that's the unequal problem.

When does a man react to a woman's growing gut by feeding her extra cupcakes and then acting coldly and derisively, and yet never says a thing about the actual problem? Never.

[–]anonlymouse2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

TRP is about men solving the problem.

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW164 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes and no. TRP is about the truth. The true nature of the power dynamics and laws of attraction between people.

Some people see it as a problem to be solved. Some people see it as unsolvable and this go their own way. Some see it not as a problem but a great opportunity to spin plates and live carefree, shunning commitment forever.

In the end TRP is just information for you to process and solve/escape/enjoy.

[–]Dubsland120 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

But if men stay true to their values they will be happier whether they remain married or not. The reality is 20 plus years of monogamy may not occur very often in our modern world of choices. The west actually practices serial monogamy for the most part.

Exactly. This kind of garbage is why marriage is a joke. It's equivalent to saying "men should be in the kitchen where they belong". Not a bit TRP.

[–]wtf-did-i-marry0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Women are what they are (usually not much unless they have nice T&A).

[–]1oldredder0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

OK, look at it from a practical view: if you did expect a woman to solve a problem, and this problem, how long do you think it would take?

If we didn't think men solve the problems would this /r even exist?

[–]leodoestheopposite 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

What a great endorsement of TRP concept by Science.

[–]ur2l81 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The journal appears to be Psychology Today, or are you simply referring to the concept of "science?"

TL; DR: Women say they want faggy men, but when they get faggy men they get bored and divorce them- LOL.

The funny thing is, after middle aged women get divorced their options in men probably aren't that good, although they may enjoy the benefits of continued financial support for the ex-hubby minus the responsibilities of marriage.

[–]RedPill1153 points4 points5 points 11 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Yeah, what's funny is that a woman with children getting divorced does have the power to completely fuck you over, but she doesn't have the power they claim they have to go out and do what they want. Have you known anyone who's had kids, gotten divorced, and ended up with a better guy? She's an older women (lower smv) with children (lower smv). A woman who could have gotten guys who were 8's and 9's before, is now looking at a carousel with 5's and 6's.

P.S. Wait, I do know of 1 and only 1 woman who did improve her guy, but she was young, no kids, and got married to a previous boyfriend who was still single.

But like my parents - got divorced, my mother has never remarried (or appears to have a boyfriend, dates, etc). My dad has dated 2 woman, both of which are better relationship-wise and looks-wise than my mother. My isn't dating a model or something, more like he moved from a 5 to a 6, but my mother isn't dating anyone.

You wonder why women who's husbands cheat on them don't leave them - it's because on a practical level, they know they can screw over their husband, but they can't improve their own situation.

Roosh was right western men is nothing but a amusing clown to western women.

Bitch gets 'bored'. No appreciation for anything. What a Joke.

The concept of the constant shit test is tiresome to me from the outset. If some woman wants to be a wasp or spend her nearly every action in pursuit of chinks in his armor she'll find them, it will happen, she's already made up her mind and is just looking for some flimsy justification to hang it from. A man will be weak and reason things out, excuse himself, say he's sorry, but worst than all of those things he will do what he can to stick with her. Male loyalty is more akin to the loyalty of the ordinary dog; his love and companionship are a comfort and not a test.

All I'm saying is that if all a woman has to offer are shit tests and vagina rewards what's the effort really worth? Why hang sanity, family, and financial security on that dagger's edge if all she's looking for is a reason to call him a pussy and dump him for the alpha?

Every time I see something like this, regardless of the angle or where it's directed (for or against supporting the feminist lie and the hypergamy game) the conclusion comes down to how the men have to practically babysit these churlish bitches. Fuck that.

This article , praised by so many is blue bill. It still says you must earn their love. Uh, no. They must earn mine. Why? Because I don't need any particular woman and there's lots of fish in the sea. Anyone who tests me better be capable of passing the same test themselves or get out of town. I am not an entertainer, I expect a woman to have her own interests and motivation.

Wow, great read.

Really not surprising per se, but always nice to see someone in a professional field so clearly communicate the issue. Thanks for sharing.

I think husbands and fathers would be wise to read this article and think long and hard about how things are going in there homes.

another result of the pussification of america

[–]bautron1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"Jen would frequently goad him into arguments in the hopes of rousing a spark of life, "

This would be a shit test. In this context, it doesn't seem so bad. Its not the girls fault for shit testing him. It's just that the guy is being a wimp.

It's in women's nature to not respect men that are weaker than themselves. And it's not wrong. Men should be strong. These levels of respect are not inherent. One has to earn them.

Want to be a wimp? Just make sure that the girl you marry is an even wimpier wimp than you.

[–]OFF_THE_DEEP_END2 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

This article sounds like some undercover blue pill shit to me. It's the same catch 22 feminist BS, "be more entertaining or your wife will leave you" That's horse shit. I'm not your dancing bear woman. If you want to leave because you're bored I'll show you the door.

[–]alyons1080 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Good article. Age 54. I can relate.

[–]crazydave1979 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

everyone tries to blame others, but does it occur to anyone that some people simply just get bored in long term relationships and look for reasons to get out??

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"I will walk to the ends of the earth if it brings you happiness. I will adopt new behaviors if it eases your burden and feeds our love. But I cannot relinquish my masculinity or my purpose."

Fuck that

Sounds like a king beta trying to roar like a lion.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

or a woman's idealization of what she thinks she wants, which usually turns out to be the ideal beta, women never realize they want the alpha, the desire blindsides them. i'm just using TRP terminology to make the point, i don't care for it too much.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Excellent read. Thank you for posting this. I've been reading alot on this subreddit but this gave many ideas that are more on the constructive side than many other posts.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

They don't leave men bc the men are boring, they leave because they get bored. That is why it is so important to always be changing and bettering yourself, you can't get bored with something that is always on the move.

[–]Red_Shirt_Blue_Pants0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Wrong you don't change FOR women. You better yourself FOR yourself.

[–]cooltrip0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

“The women I have treated who have left their husbands for more ‘masculine’ men believed that their new relationships would be able to both excite and nurture them.”

So the article considers a man is "perfect" if there exists some other different man out there who is more "masculine" than him. That is, the "perfect man" is just a beta.

So the question "why women are rejecting perfect men" translates into "why women are rejecting betas". Stupid question. It's 2014.

[–]Chadbrochill2 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The perfect man is constantly improving himself which is why he's achieved so much in his life. Women are intimidating by that as in most cases they want someone who helps them look better rather than concentrate on self improvement. A perfect man will make anyone look bad. It's the best women that see this man as a way to improve themselves. Unfortunately I feel more often than not, women just want a mate that they can compare themselves with everyday to advance their feeling of self worth.

If you meet a woman who does not take the time to improve herself, she is absolutely not a keeper.

[–]myschadenfreude0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why? Because women are opportunists not loyalists.

[–]Doomsday_0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you read the article closely the author actually makes a few useful points:

unmoderated accommodation [by the man] eventually damages relationships.

RP truth.

Men should not strive to stay out of trouble. We should strive to be the best men we can be.

RP truth.

Something astonishing happened on a Saturday morning when Jen instructed him to accompany her to a baby shower: he declined. “No thanks,” he said. “I’m going golfing. Give my best to the mother.”

RP example.
